There are lots of places to get cards but there's no programming available yet.
Besides ebay where prices are outrageous right now, where else can you buy em'?

I've had my card for a week and a half but still no programming. I called my guy today and he said they're hoping for the end of the week but I'm not holding my breath.

Well I would wait a few months before a real hack is out. If anything appears right now it is a scam so be careful. My advice is to switch over to dishnet. I don't see why you would wanna spend over $150 for a card that does not have a hack out for it yet and what do you think will happen when it gets hit? You will be in the same boat as you are in now. My advice is jump over to Dishnet. PM me if you need more details or interested.

I thinking of changing from Dish to Bev. Does anyone think that's a better idea?
Changing from what dish to Bev? Directv or Dishnetwork? If your dishnetwork is working then stick with it. The only reason why I can see anyone switching to Bev is for porn.

An Important Note about P4 and P5 cards!!!

As many of you might not know this, the P5 card has the same chip as the P4 card with some little differences. What makes the P5 card better, is that it is compatible with all High Definition receivers, where as the P4 card is only compatible with some. It also has some other features that will make the card more useful in the long run.

Keep in mind that the HU cards will be obsolete by the end of April, and these cards will most likely double in price instantly. Also, the word is that the P4 cards will only be around for a short period of time, not like the HU, and after that the only card that will stay active will be the P5 card. If that happens, these cards will be very, very expensive, and extremely hard to get.

When buying a P5 card, make sure the first four digits of the card number are less than "0014". There is a modification in these cards chip which you do not really want. The card that I am selling has the first four digits of "0013", and that is the card you want to buy, or any other card with lower numbers. There is a lot of bad P5 cards out there that you do not want to buy, and if you are going to spend a lot of money on the card, you better buy the right one.

Word of advice, buy a P5 card and not a P4 card; you will come out better in the long run.

my two cents :)

My advice is to just forget about Directv for the next 6 months. I'm hearing crazy stories about people buying P4's and P5's for $200-250 when for an extra $100 you can get a dishnetwork receiver, rom3 card and remote.

Things are different now because back when the HU first got hacked, people still had bootstraps with H cards to fall back on. By the time the H card was phased out the HU hack was in full effect with unlooping. Right now there is no hack for P4 or P5 and what about when it gets hit? Who will unloop it and what do you have to fall back on except to purchase another card? The future for directv right now is not determined except for all these unconfirmed rumours people are talking about a P4 or P5 hack.

The typical dishnet runs I get are anywhere between 6 months to 1 year. The longest I've had without any interruption is 2.5 years. Only problem when dishnet goes down is it's a pain to get back up unless you know what you are doing. Not quite as simple as directv's plug and play loading :)

Good luck to everyone but I have always preferred dishnet over directv since I learned about them.
