Now we are getting somewhere and I ask you this respectfully then,

If the board is anonymous and no way to disprove this, then its the same as every story, every post so whats the difference between the other 1000 stories that people comment on.

Nothing. Some of those other stories I may not believe either. It's been my experience that when you attempt to expose a story as false, it becomes a pissing match that neither can effectively prove or disprove (without giving up the valuable condition of anonymity).

I don't believe them all, I just lack the desire to partake in an excercise in futility. Lately I've been avoiding stories. Remember the fun we had with my story about my son and poppies? Good times!

Also, in your scenerio then why go ''back and forth with TQM''

Thats not a waste of energy.

It is definitely a waste of energy but going back and forth on opinions or jabs is more enjoyable to me than go back and forth on whether or not a post is a lie.

His story bugged me because he writes it as his experience, hence the bs.

told stories here too.

I don't just give opinions - I sometimes give anecdotes which relate to those opinions. At first, a few of you expressed some disbelief at some of the stories, but as you've all gotten to know me so well, it's been a long time since anyone accused me of making something up.

Your willingness to believe my stories is only because over this period of time, you've come to trust (to some extent) that I'm being honest, even when you disagree with me.

Part of this is due to consistency. Another part is the length of time I've been around. And another part is that as we interact you build a profile of me and react not only to what I say but react as well because it's me saying it.

Now it's obvious that with stories, there is really very little we can do to confirm them.

A few clever people might be able to hone in on certain details and ask questions that would reveal if the story was true. For instance, I think I commented recently that I was in Barbados and ate at The Cliff. You could, to test me, ask me questions about Barbados to see if I were really there. If I told you, for instance, that I visited Harrison's Caves, you could expose me as a liar, because they are closed, and have been for a few years now. But by and large, there is no way to verify a story that lacks sufficient detail, except insofar as the story makes sense, and insofar as you trust who is telling it.

I recall a time years back I was in a restaurant. It was a Sunday afternoon and a family restaurant. At a table near me a family was seated, mom, dad a toddler and sister or brother (I can no longer recall which). The toddler, a young boy maybe 14 months was in a high chair and teething.........Dad was drunk and not a nice drunk at that. Now the boy was tired and cranky of course he was fussing. Dad began to yell at the boy to behave, his voice was not that stifled yell we all have used. After a few moments he slapped the boys face. As his hand wound up for the second slap, I grabbed it and set my other palm on his opposite shoulder. I told the lout the boy had enough and advised him that he was not hitting the child again. He asked me who the hell I thought I was and I informed him I was the boys guardian angel and the man about to shatter his arm if he continued...........Oddly every one in my section applauded me and not only myself but his family enjoyed a quiet meal............Oh yea my party of 8 had the check picked up by another table.





I guess what I am saying i if you don't like what someone is spouting stand up and be a man........Don't expect the management to toss someone because you disagree with them.
