In the most recent issue of a British magazine Record Collector I saw an obit for Chad Allan, who was the lead singer of the Guess Who when they released "Shakin' All Over" in January 1965. At the time they were still Chad Allan & The Expressions, but the record label released the single under the novelty group name "Guess Who?", and the name stuck.
He passed away at age 80 on Nov. 21, 2023.
Due to vocal challenges he left the group in December 1965 and was replaced by Burton Cummings.
