You continue to fail at basic understanding. I can only assume that your ill thought out positions have some relation to your constant failure at understanding things.

If you attack me, or us, or our country, I have no qualms smashing your face with a garbage can or kicking you in the balls. Most likely I'd prefer to shoot you, but in any case, whatever force is required to stop you I will use.

Where I draw the line, where civilized people draw the line, what distinguishes me from a barbarian, is that once the enemy is subdued I treat them humanely, and it would be my goal to see to it that wherever possible civilians are not harmed by the fighting. Sure, it's not always possible--but there's a moral difference, a big bright moral difference, between doing your best to avoid harming civilians, and intentionally killing them or recklessly endangering them.

So put it this way: If you tried to smash my face in with a garbage can I'd kill you. If you didn't die I'd then tend to your wounds and try and get you to a hospital, and once you've healed I'd want to see you brought up on charges of assault.

i am not even gonna tell you what you are failing to understand. i am not saying run around and torture everyone you can get your hands on, but if you have someone in your custody that you know has information that can save thousands of lives then do what you need to. sure as soon as he tells you what you need to know send him off to a doctor and get him fixed up.

how is it different to hurt someone that is hurting you now or to hurt someone so you don't get hurt in the future ?

if i got into a fight with someone and i won i would lean over then and shove my finger into one of the wounds and wiggle it around asking if anyone else wanted to fight me and when i was sure that he was telling me the truth i would send him off to the doctor.
