Has anyone else received a violence / death threat scam texts and calls?
I received this text, followed by a series of phone calls from the same number.
These guys are very pushy and aggressive.

Searching online, it appears they track down your name and grab photos from your social media to intimidate you.

Another reason to never give ID to anyone, or e-transfers for whatever transactions, cash only. Hopefully it's nothing.

It's a scam. Tell the guy you are scammer too and you are going to kill HIM if he doesn't send YOU money!

Just to clarify, I didn't fall for the scam and didn't give up anything to the scammer. Just wondering if this is a common scam now.

I'm wondering if it's coincidence that I messaged one of the numbers on leolist the night before (although there was no reply from the number) or perhaps it's a leolist scam.

I just ignored the texts and blocked the number. Anyways, if anyone else sees a similar text or receive such calls, just know it's a scam and don't be alarmed.

Another scam is the email or other message saying they planted malware and hacked your computers/phones camera and have video of you watching porn and doing dirty things like wanking etc and you have 3 days to pay them bitcoin or else they'll send the pics to everyone in your contact list. Same logic.

Rogers call center is in Bangalore India, I've noticed the scammers are not Scottish.

I tell them I'm friends with Frankie the Wop.

The actor who played Frankie the Wop eventually had a film made about him called Green Book.

I had this happen to me when I was texting some LeoList bitches. Tony Bologna from some cartel in France of all places, told me, to give me money for wasting his “bitches” time. Then he tried to send me the company my mobile is with and it was the wrong one . Tony Salami

Glad my post helped someone from second guessing themselves. They ended up sending a few more threating messages for a few days, then it messages stopped altogether, and i haven't thought about it since!

If they say they're from Rogers or Bell or Microsoft, I say Me too! I'm in the Cyber Fraud department. What's your ADID so I can look you up in the system

If they don't hang up right away (usually they do), or if it's one of the other scams, I just as if their mother knows they're a criminal. I have learned a few very special words in Urdu and Hindi because of that...

Also try: I'm with the RCMP cyber fraud division. We're recording your voice so our AI system can track you if you ever cross an international border. We _will_ find you if you ever try to leave India.

I got a call about ten years ago. The guy said there is something wrong with my Windows. I said I did not have a computer. He then said there is something wrong with my fan.
