You obviously didn't watch the video.
The Gays were circling around ready to pounce from the moment the group got there and started their own private, un-amplified group prayer to themselves.
Also there was no harassing being done at all. He was preaching love and respect for all people, including them.
Secondly, the cops showed up and immediately started trying to also charge him with hate speech, even though nothing hateful was said at all.
When Muslims were preaching in Toronto months ago without a permit, Rebel media videoed them actually preaching death to Gays. Death.
The cops not only didn't arrest them, they gave them a security escort so they could march while preaching this hatred.
All caught on video, yet no one does anything.
This was Christianophobia pure and simple. Maybe you should include all the facts when you repeat the story.
Thanks for the summary; reading a thoughtful text is so much more efficient than watching amateur TV. At the moment, YouTube can't even make the vid available, and your link just gets a 'Try again later' message.
If there were opposing people waiting, it's a consequence of advertising that you will be bringing an unwanted message where it is not welcome. If he just showed up, and they weren't waiting, it's evidence they're content and happy amongst themselves just as they are, without his message. Which they judged offensive.
Even messages of love and respect have to be delivered in a way that respects the people you push yourself among, on the public street. Especially when you use bullhorns. It's those people who get to say whether you were respectful, not you. Forcing your issue on them is not respect.
Cops don't "try to… charge" someone; they do charge them, or they do not. Charges are laid at the Police Station; at the site the officers only declare an arrest and the reason for it. They might have warned the guy that he was disturbing his audience, and that many of them already considered his remarks to be hate-speech. They might even have told him that he might be charged with that, as a warning to cool it, or as part of the arrest. But he was not, so what's your point?
Your second paragraph, doesn't give any source at all, so I can't comment on the event. But it seems you are saying the folks you call Muslims should have been arrested and charged for disturbing the peace just as as your guy was. If they did cause a similar disruption, I'm with you. But where's the evidence and details?
Out of nowhere you mentioned "without a permit". Did your guy have so little respect for public order that he didn't have one? People who actually intend love and respect for all don't just start shouting their harangues in any public place they please. They ask first, if this is a place where they may offer their message to those who choose to hear it. That's what permits are, ordinary love and respect reduced to official paperwork.
This incident had nothing to do with any religion. It was a guy out to make a fuss; he got what he wanted, and you fell for it.
