he coached the Russian team that smoked Canada at the Spengler Cup earlier this year- so I would agree - he will do a good job!!!!

They should not use guys who are connected with NHL teams to pick the team. Gretzky and Kevin Lowe and Pat Quinn abused their power to put their personal favourites on the team who had no business being there.

I suppose people not associated with the NHL know the players better than the people who are around them day in and day out. And are you saying someone should pick players for the team that they don't like, who aren't their favourites.

No one is picking players as a personality contest. If they're so bad at picking players, how did they manage to win in 2002?

It's a crapshoot for all the teams. 3 Olympics with pros and 6 different teams playing for the gold.

It's easy to be a critic when you don't have to make the decisions.

no, not always:

in Salt Lake there were two venues for ice hockey:

1) E Center - (not olympic size) were the gold medal game was played; and
2) The Peaks Ice Arena (2 Olympic-sized ice rinks)
