It was one of the best games I've seen in a while. Was also shaking my head at Little leaving Pedro in.
I imagine Wells wasnt feeling too proud of himself either.

Now the Yankees HAVE to win the Series. Any bets as to how many games?

Samantha,

Marlins in 6.....if I'm right my next appointment is free? If I'm wrong then I will book you for 8 hours instead of 4!

To sirduke

That was priceless.

It's nice to know that there are others besides myself and MuffinMuncher that feel so good watching the Red Sox lose again, when it seemed it wasn't possible.

I'm not sure why, but it wouldn't bother me if the Cubs broke their curse, but there's no way I want to see Boston win in my lifetime.

This may be one of the sexiest things I've ever heard a woman say. I have a boner just re-reading it.

Will you marry me?

If I remember correctly, the infamous ball holding incident involving Peskey took place during the '46 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Unless there were two ball holding incidents...
You remember correctly, Ocean...Cleveland won the 1948 AL pennant in a one-game playoff over the, uh, Red Sox.

Yup, and thats the infamous Denny Galehouse game. For whatever reason the Red Sox manager decided to pitch their worst starter in the biggest game of the year. Why? Because the manager figured the Cleveland lineup would be setup for one of their better pitchers, so why not surprise them and throw a journeyman lefthander out there! It worked, Cleveland was surprised at how easy it was to win the game!
Grady Little's decision to leave Pedro in the game is being compared to this miscalculation by the Boston media...

LOL -- I didn't know the details of the '48 playoff. Another great chapter of inglorious history !

Sox always seem to have miracle runs to get close ('67, '86, this year after falling 0-2 to Oakland), only to spit the bit when the chips are down....
