The more bike lanes the City builds, the more dead cyclists we're gonna have
6) Mangles a garbage bin".... a medical emergency ... "?
Wow, you're just grasping at straws now.
Let's just stick to the known facts, eh?
Known facts:
snip
The garbage bin is in recovery.6) Mangles a garbage bin
Is the garbage bin okay?
Of the five cyclists killed this year, four were killed riding where there was no protected cycling lane. Two fatalities occurred on the wide arterial roads in Scarborough with no bike lanes, one was killed on Avenue Road which had no bike lane and one was killed on Bloor Street with only a painted bike lane. The more bike lanes the City builds, the more dead cyclists we're gonna have
And what else do all these streets have in common?? Lets see if you're smart enough to figure this outOf the five cyclists killed this year, four were killed riding where there was no protected cycling lane. Don't let a fact get in your way or hit your butt on your way off the debate stage, okay?
As long as the bin is okay. The garbage bin is in recovery.
The two innocent pedestrians and the one cyclist who "were INVOLVED, yeah right, in the collision with the ACCIDENT, yeah right, prone pickup truck driver" were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The collision reconstructionist experts in this thread are determining apportionments of blame of the two pedestrians and the one cyclist in their collision with the pickup truck.
This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads. As long as they're both on the same roads, we will continue to see such incidents. And what else do all these streets have in common?? Lets see if you're smart enough to figure this out
Yup! I'm fine with bike lanes, but dont put them on major arteries like St. Clair, Bloor, Danforth, Eglinton....etc.This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads. As long as they're both on the same roads, we will continue to see such incidents
This.This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads. As long as they're both on the same roads, we will continue to see such incidents.
Reductio ad absurdumThis.
Ban pedestrians, sidewalks, traffic lights, traffic signals, road signs, road markers, traffic laws.
Put all of the above on side streets and let the wild, wild west of motor vehicle Hunger Games continue!
This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads. As long as they're both on the same roads, we will continue to see such incidents.
.Reductio ad absurdum
This above is absurd on its face and wildly divergent from the particulars of this "incident" in this thread.This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads. As long as they're both on the same roads, we will continue to see such incidents.
Is that not what I said?Kinda makes a slam dunk case for banning motor vehicles from inner city urban Toronto.
This. Either ban cars, or ban bicycles, on specific roads.
The cyclist that died on Bloor St. didn't check their blind spot, swerved into the path of a large truck. Sad and completely unavoidable tragedy.Of the five cyclists killed this year, four were killed riding where there was no protected cycling lane. Were you there? The cyclist that died on Bloor St. didn't check their blind spot, swerved into the path of a large truck. Sad and completely unavoidable tragedy.
Because they build bike lanes as part of the regular road. The more bike lanes the City builds, the more dead cyclists we're gonna have
I seen a video about how bike friendly Amsterdam is compared to Toronto it’s a jokeBecause they build bike lanes as part of the regular road.
Go to amsterdam. The amount of cyclists is just crazy!! But the bike path are built at the same time as any roads and are completely separate from the main road.
Be afraid.Banning cars is never going to happen.
You might as well forget about that idea
