howdy terbites i was wondering......a female family member recently got involved with a male love interest. she is quite enamoured by this fellow but the rest of the family can see right through this guy. i have a gut feeling and i am seldom wrong when i get that feeling. we want to confront her but can anticipate her not wanting to accept the reality of the situation. i feel if we can do a criminal records check on this fella we would at least have some ammunition in which to confront her. luckily he has told her that he has never been in trouble with the law so if we could prove this to be not true then we would be going in on good ground. if he lied about that and we can prove it, what else could he be lieing about? i recall reading that landlords or someone renting out property can run a criminal records check but i am not sure this is accurate. any help would be appreciated.

what makes you think it matters if he has criminal history. if she is in love with him it wont matter. in fact chicks dig bad boys. go figure
I'd have to agree with Amber, people need to make their own mistakes. Most likely doing a background check would just backfire and she would become estranged from the whole family. Now if their were children involved and you think they may be in danger, that is a different situation.
Jimmydean, am I correct in presuming that you are in the GTA? If so I'm not sure that even a PI could have a criminal records check done. If you are in the U.S. the situation is different.

I'm sure the OP and a few select people are just paranoid, and nothing is wrong with the guy. In other words, they're all cock-blockers.
And even if someone does have a criminal record it doesn't mean that they're a bad person. The charges could have happened years ago and they were just too lazy to have them erased, or maybe they were in the wrong place at the wrong time?
