The only true criticism i like ( "no mean" squat to you , of course) is SELF-criticism. Let's list all the errors that have appeared in these 5 pages SO FAR, including mine of course.
I did not mean to call HER man, only YELLING out loud to the world at large....but thanks for the constructive criticism. Shouting out MAN has a funny sound, and WOMAN is kind of...

Oh, and when those fucktards say they are going to "go ahead " and do something.

"Well I reckon we're going to go ahead and go ahead with that project".

Or fixin'

"Ahm a fixin, to fix dinner"

Why? Is it broke? (rather than broken)

Oh and referring to getting into a collision.

Was driving down the road and wrecked.
Don't get me started with the Yanks ... God love 'em but OH MY WORD .... "Conversate" has honestly replaced Converse. The whole Southern lingo doesn't bother me, I mean, the whole Valley Girl (slit my wrists to listen to) lingo was most definitely NOT started by any redneck. Oh, "Commentate" was another good one I heard on a sports program ... WOW.

Let's remember, the Yanks turned their noses up toward the British culture so we'll soon see a revised, "All American" dictionary soon. New York best seller's list for sure in that country.

Let me be the public enemy #1 to say:

I hate it when the Stooges say "shill"
I hate it when the boasters say "you are full of yourself"
I hate it when the teachers are wrong, and they do make blunders. Well i've learned to study anyway, everyday till the end.

This is a great thread. Thanks to everyone for the list of entertaining examples.
The ironic thing is that when I see errors of this nature on the internet, especially open forums, I usually take them in stride. I figure they're to be expected to a certain degree.
What really puzzles, amuses, and saddens me is when I see these kinds of misuses in a professional environment. I work in such an environment and some of the things I see astound me. I don't understand why people don't take a few minutes to check their work before sending it out. Even worse is when there's a glaring error in a presentation being shown to a large audience.

That's my rant. Thanks for providing an appropriate platform and please keep the examples coming.

Very well said, there is room in us all for errors, please take it with a grain of salt. I've seen lately a Terbie with lots of posts has run his words together constantly, get a few chukles out of them THO.

Sorry, that's wrong.
I stand corrected. This is an exception to the rule for the possessive. Normally, the apostrophe would appear at the end of a word, for words ending in S, X or Z, as in The Raptors' home schedule was released today., or Selena Gomez' boyfriend is Justin Bieber. Thank you for enlightening me, MissCroft. It's odd that its' is not flagged by the spelling check.

Of course you thank Miss Croft, but no mention of my correction and link to data to explain and clarify the "its vs it's" issue.
