At the CPAP vendor site I was told that the machine ramps up to a pressure setting based on sensors and monitors. There is no way to preset a specific pressure on the Resmed machine. I didn't realize the hose needed to be washed daily. I thought once a week was suffiicient. You actually wash your 6 foot hose in soapy water every day? The mask nose/mouth piece I can understand washing daily.
There are usually two tests. The first is the diagnosis. The second is to determine the most effective pressure for the patient. At Medigas, the vendor presets the pressure on the CPAP machine, which the patient can modify as needed. It does not ramp up. It is constant.
There are different types of masks. A full face mask and a smaller mask which covers just the nose.
Cleaning the hose and mask once a week is sufficient

On a separate subject, I hooked up with a BMW SUV 2 days ago to replace an Audi which replaced a Merc. And since you are a BMW guy, you can attest that BMW is the Ultimate Driving Machine indeed. Wow!!! I took it on a test drive at 5 am on the 407. Did not encounter any cop. Luckily. Otherwise it would have been impounded ;)

It seems to me that is correct,
I returned to my supplier when I was eligible for an updated device. I was informed by the store representative that just because I was eligible didn’t mean I would receive an updated version of the machine. I explained to her the newer machines were much quieter and my SO would benefit from an upgrade. She wouldn’t budge.

About a month later my device stopped working. I took it to the store for replacement and was advised I would receive a loaner machine that day to use and her supervisor would be in touch with me to discuss a replacement. That day I walked out their door with a new updated loaner.

That was seven years ago…the supervisor hasn’t contacted me yet, nor has an invoice been received.
Oh, I was under the impression that after 5 years it was automatic. Didn't realize that's not the case. I went with the Resmed Airsense 10 even though the 11 was an option. Only because the 11 was new in the market and I wanted something with a track record so went with the 10.

So, in effect you got the loner for free.

I'm beginning to regret not going with Medigas now. I went with CPAP Solutions Ltd only because it was recommended by the Sleep Doctor who did my Sleep Test assessment. I'm beginning to think CPAP Solutions is not going to match up to the service Medigas provides from how you describe Medigas.

Congrats on your SUV. Enjoy!!!

Yea ended up with the device I was hoping for after all. I assume I can keep using it for the foreseeable future.
I felt the rep was on a power trip, but I can see her argument too. “If it’s not broken don’t fixit” but it’s not like it was out of her pocket or the stores for that matter.
Perhaps ensure your machine is defective if you desire an upgrade approaching the 5 yr…

So I've been unsuccessful sleeping with a CPAP first few nights as a newbie.
Each time after a couple of minutes had to stop.
Felt like I was suffocating, claustrophobic. Also body felt very hot perhaps went into panic state.
Decided to get some practice during the day so was successful falling asleep with the CPAP for about 40 minutes or so on the couch while watching TV.
Was woken up with air in my mouth pushing air out as probably the throat was obstructed. An AHI moment.
I was using a nose pillow type mask. Has anyone else had this experience being woken up this way?
Is this the way it is every time there's an AHI moment?

Also, I find that the ramp takes too long to get comfortable. With ramp it starts at 4 and then slowly moves up but I'm finding at 4 or even 5 it's very difficult to breath like I"m not getting enough air. Can't take in a deep breath. Once it got to the high 9's it felt very good with plenty of air but it took a while to get up there. This with a ramp setting of 5 minutes. I tried setting the ramp to 0 and it started at 5 but not sure what was going on as it didn't move. Will it eventually ramp up when the ramp setting is at 0 or does ramp setting of 0 turn off ramp and it stays at 5 and doesn't move. I'm using the Resmed Airsense 10.

Does anyone have a Hurricane CPAP Equipment Dryer
If you do where did you buy it from?
I'm thinking it's a good idea to get one to help dry the hose after cleaning.

I'm also looking to buy another slimline hose tubing as a backup and/or alternate.
Does anyone know a reputable supplier for this. I found that the place where I bought the CPAP machine from charges very high prices.
For example $90 for 6 filters and those filters are like 1" x 2" in size.
