"The Pied Piper" was written by the duo of Steve Duboff and Artie Kornfeld, who first recorded the song in 1965 as the group The Changin' Times. The Dylan influence was everywhere that year in music.
Crispian St. Peters recorded a cover of the song and it became a major hit in 1966. Jimmy Page, later with the Yardbirds and then Led Zeppelin played guitar on his song as a session musician.
