Currently listening to the English langauge soundtrack to Les Miserables.
As adapted from the original French musical.

In the West End of London, this show, which openned in 1985 is still being performed without any gaps, though it has shifted to different threatres over the years.

We all know Joe Cocker's version of "Feelin' Alright". Awesome song.
Written and recorded by Traffic. All good stuff.

But how many have heard this version by Grand Funk Railroad? Love it!

One of my favourite songs of the 80's. I had no idea until a few years ago that it was a cover.
The cover

The original by a big star at the time and so different in style

The original:

The most excellent cover:

Revved up version

Not as good as you would expect:

Johnny Kidd's version kicked ass. What I don't get about the album cover is who is the Elvis look alike second in from the left? The Pirates were alwas a three-piece back-up band. I saw them in the UK around 1964. One of the best bands ever. Tighter than a spinster's knees.

Oh. Now I get it. Two pictures of the same guy. Left and right. Johnny Spence on bass.

One of my fave songs of all time redone "Take on Me" by A-ha redone by The Viking on the Masked Singer UK
If you like, the intro can be ignored, skip to 1:30

The big surprise ..... It was Morten Harket, lead singer of A-ha. He slowed it down and basically kept the falsetto out. None of the judges had a clue

Figured I'd add the original
