I haven't even been hobbying for that long. About 1 year and 8 months. (Was lurking before) And out that time, 10 months I had taken a break. Since I was in a relationship and wanted to keep faithful and not hobby. During that time all I could think about is the crazy sex I was having while hobbying. And I was just itching to go, but thankfully kept disciplined. (Though it killed me)

I think I am coming the conclusion I really don't think I can give this hobby up. I mean its been the best sex I've had topping what could ever happen with civilians. With women I would never typically meet in my regular social circle and daily life. Type of stuff I never thought has been possible. Its been one fantasy land dream just accelerated in a short period of time. It is better than regular dating if really all you want is sex without the drama and don't care about companionship. Totally fine doing my own thing these days and am self sufficient without having to share my feelings with someone else. Although I like that, it's just not worth the price to pay right now in terms of emotional debt. So much so my motivation to make more money now would be to enjoy the hobby even more.

I'm pretty sure also I could never be in a monogomous relationship again. If I were married would have to be an open marriage or polyamorous relationship. However its one thing for your spouse to be okay with you sleeping with other civies. Another thing for her to be okay to be hanging with SPs which would be pushing the envelope over the limit. So I don't think its unlikely most people would accept that double whammy. Having said that, really hard to go back once you've been on this track. So single I stay for now with casual dating with civvies and fun with SPs. However I know eventually I gotta figure something out that works for the long term if I ever want to have a family.

If you COULD give it up. Would be interested in hearing the circumstances that would make you do so.

So close and yet so far.
I was bored, married for thirty years when I went to my first session at a massage parlour. In no time at all I was going every other week. Less than four months later I saw my first SP and I was hooked. I'm having the best sex of my life (today was a-fucking-mazing) and now I'm averaging twice a week (more or less). I figure I lived 58 years without hobbying and I've been having fun for less than two, so I suppose I could give it up if I had to, but why would I?

Could I give it up? Yeah, I think so.
I've been out of it for exactly 20 weeks now (but who's counting?!).
I do miss it, but it gets easier as time goes on.

It probably happens for some guys, for sure not for all, and if you are one of those guys, it is when you meet a really special someone, at a time in your life where you say I've had enough fun and fucked enough chicks that I want this particular girl and a I'm willing to be faithful.

Each guy has to set his own parameters and sometimes a girl comes along that fits them.

I have been asking myself that question for a while now ever since I started to see SP's exclusively in the summer of 2009. For many years prior to me discovering SP's I frequented MP's some of the infamous ones like Invisible Touch. I did not learn the term "hobby" until I joined TERB.

My eyes were fully opened up regarding how many lovely SP's out there when I learned of Craig’s List's Escort Section through watching a report on CNN. (Thanks CNN). My god all the choices! When I saw the many different sexy ladies out there for many tastes and after indulging in my first encounter I was hooked. I found that I frequented seeing SP's more than I ever did going to Massage Parlours.

I got in deeper when an SP I saw told me about TERB and recommended I join so I did and the rest is history.

For me I find SP's are far, far more addicting then MPA's. For me the “real” hobby started when I started seeing SP's. With all the lovely ladies out there it's like being a kid in a candy store.

It is possible to take short breaks. I have gone a month (maybe a little longer) max and it normally ends up with me going on a rampage when I get an overwhelming urge for a no holds barred encounter and say to myself "OK I will only see one this week" which sometime turns into two or even three each week the following month.

This hobby is so addicting and alluring with the never ending choices available at your fingertips I think it is extremely hard to impossible to stop completely once you start particularly with those favourite ladies. However, one caveat, if my ATF who I have grown fond of, ever retired that may be a sign for me to do the same as well. But I know it would not be easy.

In my case, the last "SP date" I had was almost a year ago. (Laura Alexandra). I have a couple FWB's that I see, so variety is there to some degree, but I'll be honest, the level of hotness of the ladies is not quite as high as hand picked SP's. (Its seriously hard for civvie ladies to complete with the likes of the ladies I have seen! ;-))

Do I miss it? Ya, I suppose, but I've got serious paranoia issues about the new legalities involved, and I have no idea how I would explain this to my kids and/ or professional obligations should I get busted.

I'm single and have been for two years now, so I am speaking from a different perspective here. Right now this hobby is the most convenient way for me to engage with a woman sexually.
That said, I have met some pretty spectacular ladies in this industry some of which have become friends, So for right now it suits me just fine and keeps me sane.
That said, if I ever found another love in my life, I would quickly terminate my hobbying.

If you truly treat it as a hobby, then yes anyone can.
But if it's an addiction, then it's harder.

It depends how strong the motivation to quit is.

My "hobbying" is mostly just limited to lapdances with strippers but I go for SPs as well maybe once a month or so. I'm in a relationship, but this hobbying stuff is so exciting. I don't think I can fully give it up, but it will definitely taper off to a lot less than what i'm doing now.
