Funny though, last night the cyclist was a victim of a maniac driver hit and run. Now evidence comes to light that the driver might have been the victim and was trying to get away.
Funny how if you wait long enough the truth starts to come out.

The worst ones for maniplating the truth is the media and alot of us fall prey to it. I prefer to wait until the full story comes out. There are alot of irrational people on bikes and in cars and you never know how far they will go. Based on what I've read, both parties were equally belligerent and acted well beyond reason. That being said, the cyclist is the greater fool by virtue of pursuing a conflict in which he was clearly out-gunned and out matched .

Sorry, I disagree. The greater fool is the one who intentionally caused bodily harm and killed the other guy. I don't care if the cyclist uttered profanity at him and scratched up his expensive paint job. It still gives him no right to intentionally cause him bodily harm, and in the end, kill him.
Now, I don't have all of the facts, just like everyone else. But I can't think of too many reasons, other than the cyclist brandishing a knife or pulling out some other weapon, for the driver to have the "right" to kill him (whether intentionally or not). This is criminal negligence, plain and simple, if not Manslaughter. If the facts come out that prove otherwise, then I'll be happy to eat my words. But right now, I have to stand by the fact that this guy had no right to inflict bodily harm, as well as to kill him.
I am a cyclist, as well as a driver. I see idiocy on both sides of the fence, and I have to admit that having hundreds of horsepower in your control does cause the adrenalin to increase and result in aggression not normally seen when being a pedestrian. Most drivers are guilty of getting aggressive when driving, but this is going way above and beyond what 99.9% of drivers would do when they get angry behind the wheel. Giving someone the finger, cutting them off, honking the horn, and yelling at someone are all things that many of us have done. But to accelerate when someone hooks onto your vehicle and intentionally try to get them off of your nice car by driving them into mailboxes, poles, shrubs, or any other physical object is downright criminal and needs to be punished to the full extent of the law!
