Isn't it sad that the NFL, who are arguably the best-run league anywhere, can't find it in their budget or plans to hire full time officials like almost any other sports organization. They still choose to use people who have other careers. As a big Steeler fan, I'm happy, and I think they win XL anyway. They seemed to be up to getting the big play better the Seasparrows. They're just better.

I disagree. You can see from the replays that the receiver stopped the momentum of the defensive player from invading his space. The ref made a good call. A receiver should not use any type of leverage to distance himself from the defender in the pursuit of the ball.

Even the so-called holding calls were bang on. Watch the replays, and you can see that the offensive lineman got his hand up in between the arm and head of the defensive lineman.

Seattle was able to move the ball but could not finish a drive. Holmgrem/Hassleback made some questionable calls in regards to time management - This was very surprising in respect of Holmgrens coaching experience. The Seattle receiver, Jurevicious dropped a couple of balls that any "game time" player would have caught - That's what separates the men from the boys, as they say. Tough loss for the Seahawks.

Play of the game was that double reverse throw to Ward for the TD. I thought I was watching a college play there for a second.

Funny thing I noted out of this superbowl - It is hard to win it all in any league and even more so for coaches/managers to win it for different teams. Sometimes the statistics prove that firing a coach is not the answer, bringing in the right players is more important.

In the few superbowls I have watched this one was somewhat entertaining.

Disapointing way to lose. Way too much bias in that game. Talked to someone who was at the game. He told me that Ford Field was showing all of the replays for Steeler plays, but not Seahawks. Also, they played "Celebration" when the Steelers scored, nothing on the Seahawks TD. Also, seemed like a lot of promos with Steeler players holding the Trophy.

On the Seahawks TD called back the referee was getting ready to signal touchdown, then at the last minute after the Steeler's pleading he reached for the flag. On the Steeler TD, the line judge was signaling the play down, then went into the pile after Roethlesberger moved the ball over the goalline and called TD. Strange.

THIS WAS THE WORST CALLED GAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE SUPER BOWL
AND IVE SEEN EVERY ONE OF THEM!

Pitts first score was only a TD if you had 12 drinks and your eyes were playing tricks on you!!!

The Hammer
while the calls did go against go Seattle...they also didnt make enough to plays to win. Also, Big Ben had the worst passer rating ever for a Super Bowl winning QB...

If you want to analyze the calls then:

- The interference call on the TD was wrong, so give Seattle 7 pts but take away the field goal they got on the same drive. That`s only 4 points.

- It honestly looked to me like Roethlisberger WAS IN on his TD.

- A couple (not all) of the holding penalties were questionable, but there`s none of them that you could honestly say Seattle would`ve definitely scored if they hadn`t happened.

- As long as we`re talking about questionable calls, what about the Steelers fumble recovery by Polamalu that was ruled an incompletion?
As JUST to the penalties/officiating calls that MAY have played a role into the outcome of the game.

Your first point is correct. add 4 points to Seattle = 14

Your second point is incorrect. Not one replay angle showed the ball cross the plain of the end zone. The linesmen in this cause came charging down the line looking to make a spot. But, 3/4 of the way started to raise his arms for a TD. C'mon. In a game like that, in a situation like that, you don't make qurestionable calls like that. minus 4 points for Pgh.(assuming they would kick field goal) = 17

Your thrid point is also incorrect. There was an extremely feeble call of holding on the pass that put Seattle on the Pgh 1 yard line with a first down. That would practically guarantee a TD. Add 7 points to Seattle. = 21

Your fourth point is inconsequential as it did not affect a score.

Balance of penalties/officiating calls would result in a "non-officiating-skewed" result of Seattle 21, Pgh 17.

This does not mean Pgh. would not have won anyway, but it does mean that as a result of very questionable officiating, that is what the score would have been without the dubious officiating.

How come the Steelers don't have cheerleaders?
Are there any hot chicks in Pittsburgh??

Ironically the host city doesn't have their own cheerleading squad either - they bring in high school squads. I've always though the reason behind this is that the only hot chicks in the area work in Windsor in the field this board was set up for.

...on the replay, the back judge was reaching for his flag before the Seattle reciever had even made the catch.....

Don't try to cloud perception by using fact.
