I use Network Solutions for a small webpage / e-mail for a non-profit association (over which I have control of the site and e-mail.

As is the case with most e-mails, when you create new mail, there is a subject line (which appears to have an auto complete).

What it is doing is picking up and auto completing any subject line that I have created in a new thread posting on Terb e.g. this subject/title line COMPUTER QUESTION will now auto complete when I go and enter COMPU... in the title line of new mail on my Network Solutions e-mail.

Although I like the auto complete feature usually, is there a way of "unstoring" certain lines short of disabling auto-complete (and how do I do that?)

I don't know if it happens only when I create a new thread on TERB and have the Network Solutions e-mail site "open" at the same time.

Any thoughts??

So basicly your auto-complete is always offering to enter information stored from a previous web page entry? I am not familiar with the program you speak of (from what i am gathering it is taking a step ahead of auto complete and actually inporting the text into the subject line without approval from you?)

If thats the case then it would most likely be taking from windows auto-complete, useing a script of its own in the program you are useig. perhaps try your program config/options/preferences section there may be something in that section. As for the basic windows auto complete it should never automaticly PLACE the text into your input field without you manually selecting it. so in the end. it is a program option (or perhaps there is no option) either way, check your "Network Solutions" program options.

Auto complete is a function of the mail application you are using, not the site where you email is stored. Did Network Solutions give you software to download to create your email? If so, what is the program they provided (look under the Help menu item for an "About..." entry)?

More likely you are using Outlook Express (built into Windows) or a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) to create you mail. If it is Internet Explorer, select the Tools -> Internet Options... command. Choose the "Content" tab and the click on the "AutoComplete..." button under Personal Information. You will see the various options.

I think all you need to do is go to:

Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete > Clear Forms > OK

Then refresh the page.

Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, this will force a boot. Next during the boot process hit the button again. This should bring up a page that offers safe mode.

BTW F8 must be hit several times during to boot process untill you get the feel for it

Thanks gang, I got my screen back the hard way. Pressed f10, system recovery...

I'll tell ya my confidence in computers has been shaken, this is the second difficult recovery I've gone thru in a month.

I would caution everybody when surfing search engines, they are a hotbed for viruses.
