The composite removes the outliers, the "bad" features which exist differently in different individuals. And you are left with the average; the symettrical nose, ears, and eyes.

I think the public perception of the Italian appearance is due to the fact that the vast majority of emigration from Italy to various parts of the world during the 19th and 20th centuries (particularly to both North and South America) were from southern Italy, primarily due to overpopulation and extreme poverty.
I find these composite images interesting, but it obviously ignores the considerable diversity in physical appearances in the respective countries. Consider Israel for example, where half the Jewish population are Ashkenazim (descendants of Jews from Central & Eastern Europe) and the other half are Sephardim/Mizrachim (descendants of Jews from North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Eastern Mediterranean). Clearly, women from these two communities will look very different from one another, so I'm curious as to whether the composite images will have taken that into account.

This is my superpower!!. I can look at any woman and see what she will look like in 25 years. Its a sure fire relationship killer. More a curse than a superpower. But you play the cards your dealt.
