Only started using Linux 4 years ago and knew nothing about it before, other than it was very secure and free. CL and code always scared me off Linux before because CL was the main way things were done in the past. Things have changed dramatically in the last few years. With Ubuntu and a few other popular Linux distros you can run them completely with little or no use of CL code. Ubuntu is very user friendly. My 7 yr old nephew uses Linux with ease along with his parents who now prefer Linux to Windows 7 on their dual boot box. Linux has come a long way and just gets easier to use today.
I get where you are coming from, but using a 7yr old vs and grown adult. Kids being such a young age operate on a totally different level of an adult as their learning curves are allot more defined and they pick up things 10x quicker and better than an adult. (That being Linux/Ubuntu related)
So you are saying any "JoE Blow" off the street which have been using Windows o/s for years can easily pick up Linux/Ubuntu and use it on a daily basis ?

Four years ago I toyed with the idea of getting a Mac.
I'm no PC geek always used Windows, self-taught, and knew nothing of Mac or Linux then.
A buddy at work (a Windows/Linux guy) told me. "Before you blow all that money on a Mac, give free Linux a try. Either way you have to learn a new OS, so why not give free Linux a shot. Then if you don't like Linux go and buy a Mac."
Turns out that was the best advice he ever gave me. Started out with a dual boot system of XP/Linux. This way you can learn Linux at your own pace and always have Windows to fall back on as needed. Now 4 yrs later I am Windows free and can do everything needed with Linux. All self-taught, with aid from the excellent Ubuntu Help Forums. Best of all this didn't cost a penny.
Well, that's three clicks as oppose to, HEY, three clicks. IT'S A TIE!!!!!!!!!! Both very easy, but how about deleting an application.Open Terminal:

Or you can do it with Synaptic Package Manager:
Open Synaptic
Type in Audacity
Then check it for removal and hit Apply.
And Audacity will be removed.
Well, to delete a program it open Application file on desk top then Drag and Drop file name into Trash OR right click on name and Delete. No typing anything. It sounds easier to me, but hey.
