Whether it was a Part I inquiry (a Commission of Inquiry established under s.2), or a Part II inquiry (departmental investigation established under s.6) is frankly irrelevant to the point at hand -- it was an external and independent review, not a DND review. (By the way, I should point out that I had previously listed the commissioners as a judge, a journalist and a public servant. I should note that the public servant stepped down almost immediately and another judge was added to the commission.)Do you have a reference establishing it as a section 2 inquiry? My understanding is it was a section 6, departmental.
OK, I'm wrong on this point. I had thought it was a departmental inquiry carried out under the direction of the Minister. But to answer your question, the Somalia inquiry was indeed a Part I inquiry.
Look, I don't like insulting people on terb, the way you do, it is a violation of terb policy, but your inane behavior is getting pretty close to calling for it.In reality nothing of your post would reflect on his behavior one way or the other because there simply no evidence to support your statement.
I stand by that statement: The military is attractive to people who want to kill, and trains them to be able to do that, and to handle the emotions involved in doing that. This does not make every soldier a murderer plainly, but it does mean that the military has a higher duty of care than other organizations to be on watch for deviant behavior.Need I remind that you also said " Armies train people to kill" and then claimed it was the "White Elephant in the room" which clearly is a stupid attempt at levelling a charge that had Williams not been in the military these crimes wouldn't have been committed.
More childish tripe. Grow up.sillyfuji
Specifically what slur are you talking about? Please quote me directly and do not add your own "interpretation".you are still trying defend slurs against the military which are nothing more than speculation
I have asserted NOTHING about the case of Williams. I have laid out the conditions under which the military would have some guilt in his case. I have no reason to believe those conditions have been met and I have stated that the assumption should be the military is innocent in his case.and you go even further by ignoring the obvious comparison to your so called rational thought process regarding the military and Col. Williams
Under this logic all one would need do is add the words "is it possible that" to any sort of baseless scurrilous speculation to avoid difficulty, good luck with that.I have asserted NOTHING about the case of Williams. I have laid out the conditions under which the military would have some guilt in his case. I have no reason to believe those conditions have been met and I have stated that the assumption should be the military is innocent in his case.
At no point anywhere on this thread have I done that. I have consistently said that there is no evidence of any guilt on the part of the military in the Williams case and that the military should be presumed innocent unless some evidence arises.Under this logic all one would need do is add the words "is it possible that" to any sort of baseless scurrilous speculation to avoid difficulty, good luck with that.
So quote something, anything, anywhere on terb that supports the notion that I hold the views you claim I hold. I don't hold those views. You are simply a liar.I pointed out that your speculation and the combination of your anti-miltary comments in other threads shows your silly bias
Now they're probably just playing harps for background music.Reading this thread, I can only imagine what Lancs and DQ would have to contribute......
Does anyone know what happened to Lancs? Now they're probably just playing harps for background music.
jwm
You are obnoxious. You obvioulsy don't have any reason to claim I hold the views you ascribe to me, none whatsoever, it's your own little fantasy. If you had any reason to believe your own lies you would by now, after having been challenged repeatedly, quoted something to justify your statements....more farting...
WARNING: This post is not about Fuji.Global is doing a investigative report on Col. Williams, how he could fool the military and everyone around him, at 7.00pmET --
Maybe scarier that someone (no, not Someone!) could get so caught up in curling. Yikes!!!!!Warning: This post is not about FUJI.
Did anybody catch the Global special on Russel Williams (is he still a Colonel?) last night? I missed it because I got fixated on watching an exciting curling match. It is scary that someone like Williams could have been at large for so long before he was caught. How many more like him out there?
I know, I know. I heard "Rock" and I was trying to figure out what in blazes they were doing with those round things and small brooms. Insert confused "smilie" here. P.S. Is it true that curlers and those who watch them are completely harmless?Maybe scarier that someone (no, not Someone!) could get so caught up in curling. Yikes!!!!!
