Actually it was Top 100 but here's the rundown. I saw this last night on the comedy channel.

1)Richard Pryor

2)George Carlin

3)Lenny Bruce

4)Woody Allen

5)Chris Rock

6)Steve Martin

7)Rodney Dangerfield

8)Bill Cosby

9)Roseanne Barr

10)Eddie Murphy

11)Johnny Carson

12)Jerry Seinfeld

13)Robin Williams

14)Bob Newhart

15)David Letterman

They had a couple of comedians counting it down sitting around a dinner table at a restaurant. One was Richard Lewis. Lewis who was one of the hosts came in at #45.

Lewis was always one I liked. I remember once he said. "My love life is so bad, when I masturbate in a different room I feel like I'm cheating on myself" LMFAO!!

Some famous/active ones:

Ray Romano(#26)
Jay Leno (#27)
Jim Carrey (#36)
Martin Lawrence (#37)
David Chapelle (#43)
Cedric The Entertainer(#65)

C'mon. Dangerfield makes number seven, and Groucho isn't even in sight?

Soo, what about Billy Connolly?

Ach, yer all daft; ha' ye nae e'en HEARD of Billy Connolly?

World's funniest comedian, if you can understand the accent. And made some amazing films, too.

But his two and a half hour standup show is unbeatable!

I can`t argue with Pryor or Carlin at the top, but Cosby should`ve been much higher than #8, especially if Dangerfield, who was pretty much a one-trick pony, is #7.

Nice to see Jim Carrey on there; long before his movie career took off I remember he would regularly appear on Alan Thicke`s talk show doing his stand-up routine. His Sammy Davis Jr. impersonation was hilarious.

Unless I missed them, it's hard to believe the list does not include Nipsy Russell and Soupy Sales. Talk about comedic genius!

No surprise that men dominate the list.

If more women comics just focused on just BEING FUNNY as oppose to being a FUNNY FEMALE, things wouldn't be as lopsided.

I don't recall seeing Jerry Lewis, Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, Carole Burnett and probably some other glaring omissions I can't think of right now.

Agreed Jackie Mason should be included but no way is he top ten material.

if Jim Carrey is considered eligible for the list, then Rich Little deserves to be there as well. both are strictly impersonators

quite fitting that Gallagher came in dead last. I guess he beat out Carrot Top and Rip Taylor for that honor
