Jim and Sam had Ron Bennington in the studio, it was hysterical. Talk turned to Trading Places where Jamie Lee Curtis shows off her magnificent McGuffies (or is it MacGuffies). She doesn't get enough credit for her comic timing. While Michele Yeoh got most of the screen time in Everything, Everywhere all at Once, JLC had to play three different characters. She killed, Yaoh will get most of the silverware this awards season but Curtis's work should be feted.

Love bomb anyone? lol

Everybody brought their a-game in that movie.

Yes…. Comedy before cancel culture indeed.

Most of you have short memories. Or worse, live in a fantasy world where the Liberal devils are gonna get you!

Conservative tight asses used to arrest comedians for swearing long before “wokism” and “cancel culture” became catch phrases for the right. It was Liberals like Bruce and Carlin who made the changes. And thank god they did.

Dustin Hoffman played Lenny Bruce in the biopic Lenny directed by Bob Fosse. If you're easily offended don't watch it...the Jewish grandmother scene has me ROTFL every time. It's a very funny, very sad film.

The actress who played Honey Bruce, Valerie Perrine, has Parkinson's.

Jack Roy was still selling aluminum siding when he started writing material for Lenny Bruce. Bruce was still alive when Roy got back into stand up full time. Roy's agent told him he wouldn't go anywhere with his real name, he needed to change it. So Lenny Bruce's writer went from Jack Roy to Rodney Dangerfield.

Yup Rickles' body language, tone, demeanour conveyed that he actually was not being malicious, while being funny and rude. Today comedians come under fire because their "comedy" comes across as low key rage.
I spent some time at the same resort as Don Rickles, and we had many a drink together. He was the nicest man in person, always willing to shake hands with strangers.

Stone Cold's first marriage didn't end well. Being a man's man, he's doing what he must to make his second marriage go better.

These guys paved the way for future comedians to have greater freedoms in their content.

Today's cancel culture and woke lefties want to put all of those freedoms back into a bottle and live like the tight asses of the past, but ONLY if the content offends those on one side of the political aisle. They encourage comedians and common citizens to be as gory, mean-spirited, hateful, violent, and dehumanizing if it's aimed at someone on the opposite aisle.
