Well I'm not sure if political forces are at play here cause of the Quebec Election coming up however this is concerning cause Taboo had a liquor suspension and they never opened, if you get too many Suspensions the City can cancel the license and pull the zoning and then there is no reopening, once the zoning is pulled then a strip club will not reopen at that location

This is concerning. It was already in a residential area so it might just be the politicians have been itching to have it shuttered. Sad, because it means the NCR SC scene is dwindling at a fast pace, just Pigale left in Gatineau.

If this is a violation and it certainly seems like it is. The club owner would be served an infraction notice and be ordered to close. He can dispute the allegation, but it just isn't worth it. The infraction has usually happened a few days before and the inspector is reporting his or her findings. When Frank owned Pigale's, it would happen to him once in a while. That is why he would say he was closing for renovations. To the staff and owner at 77, I would say keep your eyes open at all times and assume the inspector is always in the club. I met an inspector once and he told me that he is a patron when he enters the club. He pays the cover charge and has an alcohol drink just like everybody else.

No I just saw the sign outside the locked entrance door. I am guessing most take a break or some may head to PM.

What is the nature of this infraction ? I hope it wasn't them finding a minor on the premesis. Someone under 19. That can be grounds for revocation of license and serious charges. A liquor infraction can include many things. If they find someone under 19 ( or is it 18 ? ) in the club then that is a liquor infraction of a different type. And BTW the "renovations" card is pulled by restaurants also after they fail a Health inspection and are ordered to close. If they find a mouse in the kitchen they close it, just because of one mouse, or they find mouse droppings, that means there is a rodent infestation and they have to close, so they put a sign up saying "Closed for renovations" cause they don't want customers to know they were ordered to close. So clubs and restaurants both pull this trick. But the timing of this is suspicious with an Election coming up.

I think their weak spot is that there are dancers living upstairs and it may be that upstairs is not part of the liquor license. With that said, if an inspector observes a dancer taking a drink upstairs then that is an infraction. Just like a customer walking outside with a drink in their hand.

Really.? I was there on Friday and got no sense it would be closing in 3 days. How long will it be closed and what are they renovating?
Yes I was there last Friday too and everything was normal and no dancer told me of this coming but when I went back Monday I saw the closed for renovation sign on locked entrance door. Hence I thought I post it so that other don't drive for an hour like me and just to see locked doors. It is worrisome because it was sudden.

I can admit that I may have over speculated the closing. With that said, I stand by my previous comments regarding potential weak spots in the club.

Was there tuesday late PM, they were close for renovation like $magnum says the bar and the counter surrounding the stage have been redone and look nice.
No girl at all but was only there for a quick drink. Was in between shift change up.

Geez people... This was all just speculation! Relax! The club is up and running as usual. I suggest looking up their Facebook page the next time. They do post announcements from time to time.
