Watched part of a documentary on this last night on Netflix before I dozed off. Something that has probably been discussed here before, but I never thought about it much before. Although I am quite happy to be cut, I probably didn't enjoy it at the time, but can't remember,thankfully.
The film started out with a disturbing close up of an infant lying down about to be circumcised. The look on his face was kind of heartbreaking. He seemed to be aware something was about to happen to him but was helpless and frightened.
The documentary included lots of repetitive droning on and on which didn't help. But made me think. How much suffering is inflicted. Do they make it as painless as possible. Quite the trauma on an infant.
The health benefits seemed to be debunked. Seemed to be more of a medical cult aspect to it all. The proponents of it came across as full of shit. What with statistics etc.
So is having a foreskin just another of nature's mistakes? Seems that it is practiced around the world on a tribal ritual basis. Some primitive cultures use it as a rite of passage. Young men can opt out, but that disqualifies them from access to pussy. This is in cultures where they put it off till adolescence.

MBARARA – As the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni launched his presidential Fast- track initiative on ending HIV and AIDS in Uganda by 2030, he strongly criticized circumcision as a way to prevent contraction of HIV/AIDS but rather asked people to refrain themselves from having unprotected sex.

Museveni noted that Ugandans have failed to appreciate that AIDS does not spread like Ebola where you don’t have to greet the infected person, he says HIV spreads through one way of having unprotected sex with an infected person and that this is very easy to be avoided.

He said this has confused the masses, “before we started this campaign the HIV prevalence was at 18% then it dropped to 6% but when they started this talk of circumcision it confused the masses then it went up to now 7.3%, there is much laxity among the members of the public and that’s why we need to fast-track the awareness so that by 2030 there is no virus in Uganda.”

This line is the reason I don't really watch documentaries. There always so biased and only serve to get a rise out of people who believe everything they see without doing any research or using any critical thinking of their own. Anyone who has or is around children a lot know that they will scream and cry like they or being tortured over pretty much the littlest things such as not getting a second cookie for desert.


I do know that of a few men that had to get circumcised later on in life because it's apparently difficult to keep clean especially as a child.

On the outstroke, the glans is partially or completely engulfed by the foreskin with more skin remaining inside the vagina than is the case with the circumcised penis. This `valve' mechanism is thought to retain the natural lubrication provided by the female because the bunched up skin acts to block the lubrication escaping from the vagina, which results in dryness.'5

Our work, which supports the hypothesis of Warren and Bigelow3 and the findings of O'Hara and O'Hara 4 about the role of the male prepuce during coitus is fully reported in Denniston et al.5 Research generally has not considered possible adverse effects of male circumcision upon female sexual arousal and response. While Moynihan reported that vibratory thresholds, blood flow and hormone levels were studied,1 there was no mention of circumcision status of the male partner. Likewise, Leiblum failed to control for male circumcision status.2 In light of published findings,4,5 this is a serious methodological omission. Most likely, reported vaginal dryness and the related clinical designation `female arousal disorder' is but a normal female response to coitus with a man with an iatrogenically deficient penis.5 It is imperative that future studies of female arousal disorder record and control the circumcision status of male sexual partners.

I'm a clean freak and usually shower at least twice a day, so it's never been an issue hygiene-wise BUT it easily can be and I've heard many horror stories about guys who aren't aware of the fact that they need to PULL THE SKIN BACK and clean that area in the shower. it disgusts me when I hear people wanting to have their sons penis mutilated when there is no medical reason why it should be done. circumcision due to urinary tract infection is a poor reason for cutting off a useful and necessary body part. the risk of a uti does not outweigh all the other risks(death of a child, infection, disfigurement, etc) of the circumcision procedure.
