It's amazing how quickly conventional Christmas lights have been phased out of society. I was at Canadian Tire and the section for conventional lights is like 1/3 of an aisle, whereas the LED lights take up aisle after aisle after aisle.
I'm all for the LEDs and am willing to accept the change in appearance (not as good, IMO) for the energy savings.
But it's just amazing at how quickly conventional lights have become the modern day typewriter.
