Yes. I happened on a youtube clip of his playing. He has that effortless mastery nailed down. Thousands of hours of practice where he knew his instrument so well it was as simple as breathing. Eddie Van Halen is another example of that kind of mastery in my humble opinion.

Mandel may have been funny in his day, but to imply that his place in the history of comedy is anywhere close to Groucho is just silly.
