what are they offering with the registration?

I have been using www.975register.com . $9.75 US, excellent service (one guy), large range of free inclusions (unlimited email forwarding, url forward, etc.) I've been pretty happy.

I've also just discovered a new ISP: www.295.ca . Unlimited dialup, $2.95 Canadian per month. I'm giving it a shot next month.

Well, The site i mention www.canadawebdomains.com is still cheaper and much better service. The service is provide by one of North America's Largest Domain registrars. I have been in trouble registering with one off guys. If you are seriosu about the domains registrations and plan to do serious business go to a professional organization.

Tom is a real registrar. They are done through eNOM. He just got fed up with the outrageous prices that were being charged, and after a fight with Network Solutions, decided to offer them himself. (He answers his own email and his own phone)

Honestly, I would love to use the Canadian registrar, BUT for the extra $5.00 I'd rather get the services:

• 50 email address forwarding (i.e., yourname@mydomain.com )
• MX file management
• No exclusions on the levels available (.com, .org, .ca, etc - although prices do vary beyond the originals)
• Direct IP pointing
* URL Re-Direct (point your domain name to any link or page)
• URL Frame (overlay your domain name onto the address bar of a page or link)
• 15 Sub-Domain pages (point word.yourdomain.com - i.e., mail.yourdomain.com or photos.yourdomain.com - to any link or page desired. This allows for hidden page access or 15 entirely different sites.)
• Personal control panel and management in real time, including specification of what shows up on a "whois" and defining all the other "freebies"
• No advertising of any kind anywhere
•DNS management
• CNAME and ADDRESS updates
• Free parking (eNOM)

BTW, if you want a .biz address, I have seen more than one registrar offer these for $4.95 US (with at least one including web hosting). You're on your own to find them though.

I dont think you understand terminology. I am not here to waste my time educating ignoramuses as well.

Most of the freebies are also included in the other domains registry but as far as they are concerned all this is standard fare sp they don't need to advertise such freebies. Like I said go to a real regsitrar not a basement operator.

But that is your choice someday when the site crashes and all your Google & Yahoo lsitings get deleted, you will learn. Till then good luck.

I've used godaddy.com for several years. I've found that they carry one of the best rates for domain names. Currently, you can buy .com domain names for $6.95 U.S. Normally, they sell their .com names for $8.95 US. Not to mention, that they offer a bunch of other domains for the same price or less;(as low as $4.95 U.S.) However, I've noticed that canadawebdomains.com uses the same type of web site layout, and transaction processing as godaddy. At first glance, you might even assume, that the two sites are run by the same owner. Anyhow, to make it short... both don't carry .ca names and both charge in US. funds... All in all, godaddy is the way to go right now, if you are looking for low price and good service.... I've been with them since May 2001... absolutely no problems as of yet.

Is there some particular reason that you boys are completely incapable of having someone disagree with you (or, in this case, prove you wrong, by making an alternative suggestion) and not call them names.

Do you honestly believe that just because this is a bulletin board that common courtesy is no longer a reasonable standard of behaviour?

For your information, I am fully aware of terminology. I checked your suggestion, twice. They do NOT offer most of these services. They offer domain parking, and DNS management for free. Most of the rest (email addresses, subdomains, URL forwarding, etc.) are paid services. As they are at most registrars.

Further, if MilkMan is correct, the prices are not Canadian, so yours is only cheaper by pennies (I could find no indication anywhere on a number of pages that the prices were in Canadian - meaning they weren't).

You might also want to check who eNOM are. They are responsible for the registration. What www.975Register.com offers is the interface of the domain management system. Even if he disappears, the domain is still mine, and accessible through them. And, if you want to wait hours on your dime in a customer service queue with a corporation that couldn't care one iota about your 5 little domain names rather than deal directly with the person who is doing the administration - by all means. Have a blast. I'm working with the honest small business entrepreneur.

Being a domain registrar for a while now, I am completely aware that there are many Domains registrars out there and that has driven the price down from the ridiculous $70 a few years back to these levels.
