But don't sleep on Benfica or Lyon.

Lol..Honestly Becks, you did,nt think Real had a "real" chance. Thier
in turmoil, President quit and the so called "Stars" are aging. Barcelona
is probably the best Team left right now. Ronaldinho is a "Magacian"
to watch. (Remember that goal he scored against England in WC, 02. I still
can,t get over that.) Lyon is also another team to watch out for, very solid. I don,t give much of a shot to Arsenal the only English team left. They have yet to play the big guns, we,ll see who they draw next.

P.S. why could,nt you help your son with his math homework? I,m sure
he,s not studying Calculus or Algebra. lol..

That backheel from Ronnie to Messi was superb. I know Carvalho should have had but how many players would even think to do it? Ronaldinho is special and I can't believe Messi is 18.

Real, sorry Becks, are done. Anyone else have the feeling that the team will be destroyed this summer? An was AC that food or Bayern that bad?

Barca have to favourite.

Beckham, Ronaldo, and Zidane didn't do anything for RM. That team needs a complete revamping.

Ronaldinho for Barcelona was awesome. What a presence on the field.

I didnt think Beckham was that bed, he was probably the best 'galactico' out there. Like Tommy Smith said, why wasnt Robinho out there to begin with?!? Nevertheless I am very thrilled that Arsenal has gone through, they need to avoid Barcelona for this round, they are capable of beating anyone else I believe...

Don't be dissing my Arsenal, LOL. When you consider the last two winners, Liverpool and Porto, I don't think you can count anyone out. The Gunners have been inconsistent, mostly due to inexperience and brutish tactics by some teams in the EPL. The refs in the Champions League don't put up with the scything that goes oin in the EPL which is to the benefit of Arsenal. I really like the teams that are left, especially Arsenal, Barca, Lyon and AC Milan that play attacking football. I was happy to see Chelsea and their defensive game, although they have an unlimited payroll, get eliminated.

that final was the worst final for a long time when those 2 met the last time. I wish Milan or Juve got knocked out this round. Inter is at least entertaining.

Juve'? After barely scraping by Bremen?

No point picking a final until Friday. But to me Barcelona is the best team left.

Those match-ups are pretty balanced. Bremen pushed Juve to the bitter end and if wasnt for that worst blunder ever they'd be through, so I think Arsenal has a shot here. Barcelona should get past Benfica, I suspect Inter will go through and could get by Villareal though they are a tricky little team. And I am going to say Lyon gets by Milan and their aging defence.

If you believe the English press, England is supposed to have the best midfield IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE...I don't see it.

Lampard gets annihilated by Diego Mota,Gerrard gives up the ghost after carrying his pathetic team for two seasons and Beckham is his usual uninspiring best. It's easy to see why Abramovich wants Ballack so badly, unlike Lampard, he has a fighting spirit.
England has as much chance of winning the World Cup as the Leafs have the Stanley Cup.

Real put their collective football in their mouths again, start Fat Ronaldo and you lose. I wasn't expecting their defense to shut down Arsenal's offence?!?!

Ollie Khan should have known better than to get in Sheva's face after he missed that penalty;the Ukranian doesn't get mad. The good news for Milan is that Nesta and Khaladze are now healthy.

Man did the Old Ladies get lucky, they'll have to bring their best against Arsenal.

Fabrizio Miccoli has played well for Benfica, I hope Marcello Lippi was watching?

The English press is the English press they will build up their own. I imagine this is the same in Italy, Germany, Spain, etc. To me it's not a surprise.

Lampard has just come back from injury and was rushed back to face Barcelona. Gerrad has played how many games the last two years. I hope he's given some form of break before Germany. I agree that Beckham is the most over-rated footballer since Ronaldo.

All in all they are not the best but they are up there.

I'm predicting an Arsenal vs Barca final. :D

I don't think it's a bad tie for The Gunners. At least they avoided AC Milan and Barca this round. I think these two are more dangerous than Juve. Juve's defense against Werder left a lot of questions ... they are not getting any younger and the Werder attackers did find a lot of space. Arsenal are a fast team so I can see them giving trouble to Juve's backline. If Juve takes a physcial approach like so many EPL teams have successfully done against Arsenal this season, then there could be trouble. Then they might have something to prove against Patrick Vieira as well.

Barca should roll past Benfica and Inter should get past Villarreal as well, although there could be an upset in the 2nd tie. Riquelme has been brilliant all season for Villarreal, and he's gonna be their main man just like Henry is for Arsenal. If Riquelme picks up an injury, then I can't see Villarreal going very far. Really difficult to predict the outcome of Lyon vs AC Milan ... could go either way.

and the fact that liverpool have been playing since june due to the english fa lack of balls has nothing to do with gerrards fitness or form?
or that liverpool should still have won, even giving benfica the 2 goals with the chances they made
think barca will win it now

This is a frightened city...a new type of fear grips the streets...Yes! Vicious gangs of Old Ladies attacking defenceless fit young Gunners.

Camoranazi - Well it's not safe to be on the streets no more, they're everywhere.

Capello - Pension days the worst, as soon as they get their cheques they blow the lot; bread..milk...airplane tickets for Dennis Bergkampf.

The Italian press isn't as fawning as the English one. After Baggio missed that penalty at USA94 the press pilloried him - even though he carried a mediocre Azzurri and made Arrigo Sack Me look like a genius.

And does James Sharman on The Score work for minimum wage. He's such a wanker; does he know anything about football? I find it hard to believe that Martine Gaillard can get non-English football names correct while he butchers them completely. If it were not for Budgie I wouldn't bother watching Sportsworld at all.

Camoranazi indeed!
