What was with Chara cocking his fist back then not hitting Lecavalier?!? Did Vinny say "I give, I give!!" or did Chara realize he could have been on the verge of a Kermit Washington/Rudy Tomjanovich moment?

On March 21 Chara injured his hand fighting Eric Cairns and was probably more worried about his hand than finishing what was already decided.

He was trying to get revenge on a fight they had 2 years ago.

Lecavalier said after that fight that he had never been hit so hard before. You think he would have learned.

Should send Chara a thank you note, I think Chara showed class.. he waited till the first punch was thrown then finished the fight, he had free reign to get a few punches in (the refs did not jump in till Charo held his punch)

again I think he showed class... the game was won the fight was one.. no reason to give Tampa bay incentive for the next game

Yeah, I grimmaced when I saw that starting thinking Vinny was about to get killed. I agree that Chara was classy in not throwing the first (and Vinny an idiot for doing so) and that Chara let up rather than really tattooing the guy when he had the chance.

Chara need not pick any fights as it is his job to stop goals from being scored and also to assist and score goals.

Picking fights like some kinda game-passed-me-by loser is not Chara's role.

As stated elsewher neither Chara (or Vinnie ) would pick a fight with a registered Goon, thats other registered goon's job , but Vinnie picked this one with chara , and at 6' 9" ,, that glass jaw is way up there !!

Chara has skills his ice time proves it .. and he's a pretty strong guy otherwise who was that leafs d-man that chara threw over the net ... Mcbain... Mcgabby ... something like that ...
