CD Protection drives me nuts!!!

I have refused to by any CD's recently because of the copy protection - but I wanted a certain SONY cd and I couldn't find the songs so i . I ripped it to my puter no problem and then used Media Blaze to convert files to WAV. Tried burning to CD - and only got MP3 on CD - cannot copy to wav file so it is playable - without using the dumb black marker trick is there a way to rip the CD without the protection so you can make a copy playable on any CD player ie car player or portable boom box.

Another way is maybe to make an image of the disc and mount the image with Daemon Tools (activate the protection spoofers) and then copy the data on your PC from the virtual drive.

Tried cloneCD but only got disk with WMA files that were playable only on computer - will try it with this suggestion -
Have also been told that if I import into itunes, create playlist and then burn playlist in itunes it will give me an audio CD - haven't tried it yet but I am doubtful of this suggestion - any ideas about this

I nearly replied without checking... but is seems to be true!
Firstly they say that It's better to have Itunes below version 7 or it is going to be a pain in the neck to burn it...
Be that as it may, here is the comment:

Burning CDs of your iTunes Music Store purchases and ripping those CDs back to your hard drive as MP3 or WMA files is your best bet for liberating purchased tracks.

They also say that ripped CDs inside Itunes can be transfered without any protection by ripping them.

I have a stand alone CD Recorder that has no problem copying copyrighted CD's.

Just use Nero (or whatever you normally use to burn CDs) to "Copy" the CD and run AnyDVD in the background. It will strip out the copy protection. It works great on audio CDs, not just DVDs.

DVD Region Free is a nice little program that runs in the background and tricks windows into believing there are no copy protections on DVDs or CDs that you try to burn.
