Dog.
but why not set up a poll as well.
CatsFunny joke, however since the thread is taking a different turn...Cats are my choice.
Mine is super affectionate, greets me when I come home, follows me around the house, plays fetch, and is easy to maintain. I can go away for a few days and he is good on his own. Very clean, quiet most of the time and he will catch, torture and kill any type of rodent that may finds its way in my house.

Cats are an amazing creature and one of natures best killing machines.

None for me.I had a cat for thirteen years, but only because he came to my door, asking for a new home.
I like dogs, but not enough to want to have one of my own. For several years, I borrowed a friend's dog for two days each week. I taught computer skills on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and I would pick up the dog after the Tuesday lesson and drop him off before the one on Thursday. Two days per week of having a dog was great, but I wouldn't have wanted the full-time responsibility.

Never thought the car rides.I've picked up many stray cats over the years....Have to spend a little coin to get them a bill of clean health but they fascinate me as creatures. Nature's perfect serial killers.
I'm quite fond of many of my friends dogs. love playing with them at the park but they're quite a handful at home. They will protect you till their last ounce of strength though.
Down side of cats is that they mostly don't travel well. Dogs can't wait for those car rides.
