"Whitebread" here with my humble opinion.

Don't blame Carabana.

Don't blame the City.

No one made him drink.

He's 25, pretty much a legal adult and hypothetically responsible for his actions.

Yes, a lost leg is not a good thing.

Many more cops would just lead to " community" tension.

He truly farked up and now faces some tough consequences, but thats called life.

.
I'll just file this one under the risks of living. If you do something stupid, you have to live with the result. He should be happy he didn't succeed in making the Darwin awards list, unless of course he managed to sterilize himself in the process of getting hurt.

Sigh. Re-reading my post above, even my "alternate" quote above still kind of lays the blame on liquor and its effects, rather than the choice a person makes on if, when, and how much to drink.

In any case, a tragedy, and I feel for the young man.
Doesn't anyone remember the old LCBO quote "You are your own liquor control board"? When did we, as a society, lose the sense of personal resonsibility?

Hey, dickhead, why aren't you dumping on all the comedians on here? Or are you just trying to get on Fab's good side?

Is Fab a chick? If so, then I say "farking organizers".

It's impossible to protect someone from himself or herself. You can make an effort that will minimize your legal liability, but the person still ends up hurt.

A very unfortunate incident. Hey we all drink and do stupid things from time to time, I know I have. I don't necessarily take his brother's words as meaning they will file a lawsuit against the Caribana organizers. And could you imagine the uproar from the black community if more security presence was there as advocated by Mr Baptiste.

No, it is sad that people cannot take responsibility for their own actions. It is sad that there are so many stupid people in society. It is also sad that the parents must blame others instead of accepting the fact that they did not have the best parenting skills and it is ultimately their fault as many of the decisions that their kid made are a result of their parenting.

I have no sympathy for the guy losing his leg... maybe it will teach him a lesson!
