Cancellation Conundrum

I'd love for agencies to chime in here... because I'm really at odds with cancelation policies.
Everyone cancels from time to time, but for me Im looking at a multi hour commute -each way- when I book an appointment... as such, I appreciate the agencies situation and always give 24hr notice if I need to cancel... With the relatively new concept of 'pre-booking' I find more and more, it's impossible to book a appointment. When I do, the girls say they're constantly being canceled on... so they get frustrated and cancel their next shifts out of spite. To me, this means clients are booking multiple appointments predicting a cancelation, then canceling or worse...not showing up to their other appointments once they've seen someone.
I have a 3 strike rule, so most of my ATF girls are off the list... and it pisses me off, but I can't chance a 4+hr round trip on a last minuite cancelation. Honestly, THE SINGLE AND ONLY agency to contact me in advance because of a girls cancelation is Discreet Dolls. it was a simple, subtle text 'Hey' the night before, so prying eyes wouldn't know what the text was all about.. but I was able to make alternate arrangements and it all worked out.
I don't know if it's cursed Fridays, or whenever I buy gifts... but either seems to result in me only generating a large carbon footprint of frustration... now Im looking at a 3rd strike rule, combined with over $50 worth of Biltong...
and wondering how I even properly store this South African Jerky.

It’s not just agencies, I’ve been told by some independents that they are getting frustrated with clients booking and then not showing or cancelling last minute. One said the client wanted a relatively early morning time, it was booked, so she got up early, got things ready and then oops sorry can’t make it. I guess it’s all part of the game, both sides!

Unfortunately gents - not much can be done - cancels happen on both ends. I wish I had better options for you but all we can do is continue to book and hope for the best. Its not a solution but reality.

I know things happen on both sides of this BUT if you request a certain time and day for an appointment then the least you can do is make contact telling the party that something happened and you have to cancel and will rebook at another time, rather than just not showing up!! Pre booking days in advance which seems to be a thing now can create these type of problems too. I generally would try to book maybe an hour max in advance or when horny, lol

I think perhaps it's time for me to venture back towards independants and avoid agency's as theres a personal connection and if either needs to reschedule there's an open line of communication. As easy as it is to use an agency, the extra 20-30% for an independant is worth it, vs loosing an entire day to a last minuite cancelation and total disregard from the agency.

This problem's been around for as long as I can remember, with valid complaints/concerns from both sides. If you build a solid rep over the years with agency(s) and/or indies then they know your trustworthy to be there for scheduled prebooks/appointments. Is it perfect? No. But when things happen and can be resolved quickly then everyone walks away happy. Been there myself and only a handful of times things didn't work out and had to reschedule for another day/time.

My non-scientific research and observations are pointing to a younger average age of clients so maybe that's also a factor here
The additional complication here of course is the multi-hour commute each way, because with something like this I would imagine that almost ANY change in scheduling is going to have a significant impact!

Maybe it's the Biltong??? and not you.

A lot of drama in this thread but I understand everyone.

One time I booked one week in advanced. Sunday to Sunday early morning. So there was no reason for a delay - meaning traffic on Sunday is light but depends where you go. She was a bit late 3 - 5 mins. I was shoo out by 53min of the hour. Me being me didn't mind but she made it for the session. Something told me she had a few cancellations, that day.
Not my fault or hers but at least they called.

Sure we all get emotional but it is life.

I wouldn't call it Drama here per se, and honestly I anticipate cancelations from time to time... but going through my text messages..just from one agency, there's been 4 in a row, several with others too... and I don't think I hobby as much as most. yet if I go through Indi's there hasn't been a single one.
You might be onto something about younger clients, but personally I think there's a more broad lack of respect for agency girls time... so they loose huge blocks of their day to cancelations, leading to frustrations, and then their taking days off out of spite imagine anticipating x amount based on bookings, then only seeing 50% of that actually play out.

This is what I was going to say. With an independent provider there is more accountability as they are not only the escort, but the business owner too. I’ve found most indies (there are a couple notable exceptions described on this forum) that I have dealt with to be super reliable and professional with booking, and have only been canceled on for totally legit reasons (eg illness). And, once you are known to them as a reliable client, they will want you to book to avoid the other time wasters, while trying to be accommodating to your schedule.

Indeed. my ATFs are charging exuberant money now. it used to be nice to book a couple hours and not skip a mortgage payment... but if you figure the inconvenience of cancelations into the equation, suddenly the 20-30% premium most indy's charge its a fair price.

I don't think there is a solution to the problem so my advice is to find some reliable regulars and stick with them. It is my non-scientific observation that cancellations are increasing the "value" of reliable regular clients. My go to lady gives me a rate that is a good bit lower than her "standard" rate, I think at least partly because I don't cancel and so many other guys do. She told me one day she sat for an entire shift and every one of her bookings cancelled or no showed so she made $0 for the day. When I said I was sorry to hear that she said "ya, it happens sometimes,'' so I don't think it was the first time for her. I guess what I am saying is, cancellations definitely suck, for both clients and providers, but if you demonstrate that you are a reliable client, you may find there are benefits offered as a result, so there is at least a bit of a silver lining to the situation. I can say that the people I see are extremely reliable, so there are good providers out there. It's one of the reasons I just stick to a very small number of regulars, I don't need the hassles and unwanted last minute surprises.

I was feeling the itch again today, so I contacted a lady I saw at the beginning of the week to see if she was available, she said she had, had 2 cancellations one for this morning and one for this afternoon both sickness excuses, so she had availability. Good for me, bad for them!

Reliability is an extremely valuable commodity, and as you say, it can be worth paying for.

It is that time of year when people start getting sick more often. Post pandemic I think it is less acceptable to go about your regular activities when you might make someone else sick.

It's exorbitant, btw. Best to stick to words that you can spell :)

You might want to have a look at the SP's that you're booking. I would bet that consistently well-reviewed ladies are cancelling less than newer SP's. Having said that, cancellations are going to happen from time to time, especially as we head into fall and winter.

I am definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer BUT this is what I have learned during my 15 years having fun at this hobby and now being in my mid 70's

- I still hobby 3 to 4 x a week , usually about 2- 3x to a mid-range 1 or 2 lady AMP and 1-2 x to an independent INDY. I pretty much stick exclusively to ladies over 40 and many of them could be 50. These ladies are not swamped with customers and are not the self entitled smoke shows that are often in Agencies that often skip their shifts. In fact most of them are making a very modest living at best. If you are not something special you are just one of many to the young smoke shows and have no special relevance and get no special treatment.

I have 5 or 6 long time regulars who I generally see once or twice a month. I do not tip or pay above market rates but am generous with them at Christmas. Having said that I did give a couple of regulars an unsolicited raise in this year because they deserved more and had not raised their donation to me for a couple of years. I can assure you that I get special treatment [ not necessarily sexually, lol. ] from all of them and I am an important client to each and every one of them. Let me explain - I am always on time and have not cancelled once this year , I am always freshly showered and shaved , I am respectful of their boundaries and I treat them kindly with respect. I am fairly sure to each of them that I am one of their favourite clients , and it is not for my sexual talents, lol.

How has that paid off for me - I am always the first client of the day for those in the AMP's - in fact most of them come in early for me without me asking so that we will not be interrupted. NOT ONE of them has been late by more than 5 minutes this year. Only once have i been cancelled or ghosted this year and that was because her period arrived over night . As far as the INDIES I have not been cancelled, ghosted or had to wait even 5 minutes this year. I always confirm the morning of the event and I almost always schedule the first appointment of the day.

I have not booked an agency this year , nor have i ever in my hobby career.

At my age I do not want any bullshit or unwelcome surprises. My regulars are regulars because they deserve to be -- no they are not young self entitled smoke shows to whom one more client means nothing but more dollars. I am appreciated and respected by my regulars and I respect and appreciate them.

I always wondered what kind of protocol or what kind of consensus is there if you make plans to see someone and plan it out, but they are the ones to cancel, and in between they end up increasing their rates

Do you have to stick with the new rates or ask about the old rates. Does asking about the rates before the increase make you look like an ass or blacklist you for haggling?

(I won't mention her name since she has been inactive and basically retired as far as I know, but I have mentioned her in the past in previous threads; her rates went from 300-400/hr when I tried to book before she cancelled, to 900/hr afterwards, so I ended up not seeing her)
