Impressive 4.5 % GDP growth in the Canadian economy. The fastest start to year since 2002. Exports in services and goods are up 2.3%, and even household spending is up. This has exceeded expectations. This Liberal Government has really instilled hope for exceeding expectations:

Economic performance is difficult to directly link to government policy as there is often a very long delay between the policy announcement, its implementation and ultimately its impact
While some of the current Canadian stats are encouraging and positive, they are more likely to be dependant upon increased US economic activity , than anything Justin has done.

From a long term perspective you will likely need to judge Justins performance on events which happen long after he has left the office
His decision to implement a carbon tax independent of US action has the potential to severely undermine our long term competitiveness.
He is a very principled and some may admire him for that, however the economic cost may be very high and Canadian action on climate will not make a difference if the US , China do not act similarly

He was a fantastic President and embodies the argument for a third term.

Obama however does not deserve huge credit for any US growth (which may sputter) as his policies could hardly be described as accommodative for economic development.
The current US growth is likely more attributable to the natural ebbs and flows of demand
The stock market is being driven by the promises of Trump tax reform and infrastructure build which may not happen

for someone who portrays himself as an expert on so many subjects it is amazing how little you truly understand

Trudeau has embarked on massive income redistribution with the child benefit payments. That is a huge amount of money going into the economy. Plus the US economy is also pulling us up. A big thing is also the end of contraction of the Albertan economy, replaced by growth.

I think the US has a bigger influence on the Canadian economy. Harper doubled down on oil, which turned out to be a total fuck-up. But the Canadian economy generally follows the US economy, and so we're doing well, because the US has had eight years of growth.
