I think what canadians have come to realize is that if a politicain isn't lying to hold on to power for a little while longer they are possibly lying to get power for the first time. Maybe i'm overly cynical but I don't believe what any one of the fools say any more because in the end they will do what they are told to do regardless of what they promised.

but for the purpose of voting i pick the liberals because even though the conservative are finally able to pose a serious threat, I don't think all of the party members are on the same page when it comes to future policy directives and the position the party will have on those directives. That should be resolved once the party has more time to adapt to the merging of old conservative and old alliance ideology in to the new party.

Rather than post a bunch of urls, I suggest you do an Internet search on which country has the highest tax rate. You'll see that Canada is nowhere near the top.

Please explain this one to me? Personnally I think that it is completely retarded in Canada you get taxed more for making more. A "friend" of mine got a dollar an hour raise and ended up making less money because she was put in a different tax bracket. That stupid. The more money you make the more you spend which keeps the money cycle going and businesses thriving. I dont know if I am going to vote this year as I dont realy have much use for either party.


I am not sure what way I am going to vote this year. Usually I am a Liberal man but I am getting tired of them. I think Harper should run for President, not for Prime Minister as he has more of an "american" view on politics. This could be a good thing for Canada but I feel it would cause more problems than good because that is not how the country is used to running.

Paul Martin is a waste of skin but the party has good things to be developed for industry and skilled trades. That is where I feel Canada's growing future is.

No matter what happens in this election, people will still complain about the party in power. It's human nature. At least if you get off your butt and vote, you can say you participated in this country's democracy.

Personally, I think the media has done a horrific job in covering this election. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to watch the news or read a newspaper. I will wait until Friday, before I do that.

The comments on this board are typical of what's being said by everyday Canadians. I would love to see the governor general impose a coaltion government. It would force the parties to work together for a change.

Okay, I'm one the 3% or so who have gone Green. Basically, each of the parties is running a negative campaign, each saying you MUST vote for us because they're not capable of leading . . .
