How does denying the Holocaust promote racial hatred?
Because people who deny the holocaust inevitably tend to say that the Jews made it up to garner sympathy and as a justification to create the state of Israel, then usually start rambling on about how the Jews get kicked out of every country they’re in for undermining the state, spout Zionist conspiracy bullshit, and claim the Jews (along with George Soros and the Clintons) are secretly trying to create globalist union, and other such nonsense.

Are you really not understanding this?

It's a social utility argument. The old adage is "speech is good, but someone who yells "bomb!" in a crowded concert venue gets to go to jail for a while."

In this country, we put people in jail if they say shit they know is false simply to stir up race hate and profit from it. Like Holocaust deniers. Both headline Holocaust denial trials in Canada involved careful consideration of the Canadian constitution and an in depth examination of whether Keegstra and Zundel really believed that the Holocaust didn't occur and whether they were consciously lying and attempting to profit from stirring up hate against Jews. The court found that both men were consciously lying and profiting from anti antisemitism. So they were jailed.

I have no problem with that. In fact, I really like it. If you have a problem with that, live in some other friggin' country. Canada doesn't need people like you.

And you know the best part?... I get to see your buddy-boy Ezra Levant and your buddy-girl Faith Goldy tread very, very carefully and watch their P's and Q's whenever they open their vile, goddam rightie traps in case they slip up and trip over that line and then............. they get to go to jail as well.
Spare me the claptrap. I'm a liberal to the core and I believe in the absolute right to free speech. Shouting fire when there is no fire in order to cause panic is not free speech and it never was. It's a lazy argument used by people unfamiliar with what free speech really suppose to be. We have slander and libel laws that put limits on expression and I happen to agree with them, for the most part. You have no problem with neo Nazis being jailed for their POV. Me? While most of my family was actually murdered by the actual Nazis and some starved to death under Stalin, I would still defend their right to speak. Because curtailing free expression is what the Nazis and Commies are famous for. If you cannot win in the arena of ideas without shutting down your opponents, your argument is worthless.

Anti-Semites are a bunch of losers who can't compete. Statistics speak for themselves. Jewish people are successful. Many of my closest friends and teachers are/have been Jewish, I am not.

As they say, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Denial of the Holocaust is absolutely unacceptable. Call me what you want... against free speech, whatever.

I am a friend of Israel, and damn proud of it.

Help. How can you deal with such stupidity. Hard to believe anybody can be that stupid. Time to block.
Ad hominem is not an answer.

Really? That's some far-fetched tripe but assuming that may happen, it's a piss poor reason to deny such speech.

Do you know that no such law exists in the US?

You need to get off the small mental island you live on and swim in the wider world of ideas.

You are most definitely anti-free speech. Barriers around speech like this is bound to crumble.

What other historical events should put someone in prison if they deny it? Please list them.

Your stance against free speech is ironically free speech. And that doesn't make you a criminal, just a liberal.

I don't agree with you, but I fully support your right to your opinion and to voice it.

When there are nazi rallies in the streets in the US and antisematism is more prevalent than it’s been in decades, then yes, it is a perfectly good reason to ban such speech. They allowed completely unfettered free speech and it led to Trump, and the alt-right, and dipshits spray painting swastiskas on Jewish people’s homes.

I understand the importance of free speech, believe me, and I am very hesitant about saying you shouldn’t be allowed to say certain things, but context is important. Perhaps if the political climate were more relaxed than it is, I’d be ok with it. We used to have David Duke and other idiots spouting hate on the radio and TV, but no one really took him seriously and just laughed at him for being a retarded bumblefuck. Nowadays, people listen to the Alex Joneses and Richard Spencer’s of the world. The stakes are too high currently to allow neo nazi fuckbags to spread their propaganda. People are simply too stupid nowadays to be allowed to have complete freedom.

I agree with you 100 percent. I would not want to
befriend any one I know who is such a bigot as to deny
one of the most hideous crime against humanity in history.
If this person is my neighbour I would stay away from him
as much as I can. If I were a school principal I would not allow
such a person to teach my students. I would not send this
person to jail though even if I had the power.

I am a friend of Israel, and damn proud of it.
If the most powerful nation on earth is willing
to be Israel's poodle no one should feel shameful
to be a friend of Israel.

No sympathy. Freedom of speech has its limits. Germany has its own laws. The holocaust is a fact. So in essence to speak against it makes the person a fraudster.

What other historical "facts" can a person "lie" about and get sent to prison for?

I'll bet good money that the list grows significantly over the next ten years. Not hard to imagine what will be on that list.
