Says Chinese and Korean girls involved... sounds like TOG's menu ...

Montréal, April 1, 2015 – Two major cells of a Canada-wide prostitution ring were disrupted between March 27 and April 1, 2015 in the wake of an investigation targeting an Asian-based international criminal organization that is allegedly involved in the smuggling of young women into Canada for sexual exploitation through various bawdy-houses.

As part of an investigation dubbed Project Confidence, investigators of the RCMP Immigration and Passport Section conducted a three-step operation in the Greater Montréal and Toronto areas, resulting in six arrests and sixteen searches.

It is alleged that the victims, who are mainly from Korea and China, received assistance from the criminal organization to enter Canada illegally via land crossings or with visas obtained through false pretenses. Upon entering Canada, the victims were taken over, controlled and exploited by a prostitution ring operating Canada-wide (Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver).
Charges

Investigators arrested several key players as well as the main leaders of this criminal organization. The accused will face a number of charges under the Criminal Code, including:

Material benefit from sexual services
Procuring
Procuring – person under 18 years
Advertising sexual services

That's why, and especially now with the new laws against clients, it's always a good idea to just buy a pay-as-you-go cheap cell phone at 7-11 for cash and use that... for only $10 you can change the number and SIM when ever you want.

The fact that underage girls were part of this exploitation will probably be the most serious of charges. If you were a client caught up in this there is no telling if you might have been with an underage girl. As they say Asian's look younger then they are... "looks can also be deceiving"

I don't think they can nail clients on this type of charge, unless there's proof of some sort that he sought out underaged girls, or knew (or ought to have known) that she was underaged. Sure, they can be charged with it, but I don't know if it'd stick in court. Fact is, though, simply being charged with a criminal offence and having to go to court is a Very Bad Day, IMO.

RCMP Bust Canada-Wide Human-Smuggling, Prostitution Ring

The Canadian Press

Posted: 04/01/15 04:06 PM ET

MONTREAL - As many as 500 Asian women were allegedly smuggled into the country to take part in a Canada-wide prostitution ring the RCMP says it has dismantled.

Federal authorities announced Wednesday they'd struck against two major cells of the network in the last five days and arrested six people in the greater Montreal and Toronto areas.

The accused are allegedly part of an Asian-based organized crime ring that operated bawdy houses in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

They face a host of charges including procuring, procuring minors, advertising sexual services and gaining a material benefit from sexual services.

Other immigration-related charges could be laid later as well as serious gangsterism charges.

Police say the alleged victims, mainly from Korea and China, received assistance from a criminal organization to enter the country either illegally through land crossings or with student and visitors visas obtained under false pretences.

They were then controlled and exploited by the prostitution ring and would be put to work across the country, said RCMP Const. Erique Gasse.

Gasse told reporters the women were aware they were coming to Canada to work in prostitution, but were told it would be under decent working conditions.

"They were supported, controlled and exploited by a prostitution ring that operated across Canada," Gasse said. "The victims were exploited for several weeks in one place and then transported across the country to continue the same line of work, still in appalling conditions."

The RCMP hasn't been able to pinpoint an exact number of victims, but said there could be as many as 500.

The contents of computers and cellphones confiscated during 16 police seizures may shed light on a list of clients.

"After a few weeks or months, the girls were returned to their country of origin," Gasse told a news conference at Saint-Hubert Airport, just south of Montreal.

Two alleged ringleaders were arrested and flown to Montreal from Toronto on Wednesday and are to appear in court Thursday. Four others from Montreal and Notre-Dame-de-L'Ile-Perrot, a suburb of Montreal, appeared in court earlier this week.

Two people remain on the lam — a 34-year-old man from Toronto and a 20-year-old woman from Montreal.

Two clients arrested during the operations will also face charges of being found in a bawdy house.

Authorities say they also seized two vehicles and an important sum of cash

The one Asian lady I met in Toronto in one of those so-called "trafficked" places was not even from overseas. She was from another Ontario large city. She told me she was a univeristy student, and was going to Toronto once a month to make money. Asian heritage girl born and raised in Ontario. She told me she usually makes $1000-$1500 a day and then after 4-5 days goes back home to her studies. She has never been hassled by pimps or had any bad experiences with clients. I believed her. Not sure what the fuss is all about.

There are many different Asian agencies. Personally I really want to know what agency is involved here... Sounds like tog? They always seemed like bait and switch so never tried. I have visited plenty other agencies and I'm thinking back and really having a tough time thinking any of them could possibly have been forced into it.

Won't do you any good. If you notice they took over a year to complete their operation. That means photographs and complete backgrounds of every client that ever went into that place.

I see more of this type of operations happening soon.

Last year the government was passing a new law.

The RCMP informs the government of all major operations. So they new this investigation would coincide with Conservative Government agenda.

Very impressive work I have to say.

For me i am paying attention to the ads posted. It's absolutely not a sure way to determine things but I have been keeping track of certain asian agencies, the ones that interested me, posting their ads on here at a certain time regularly.

Those that suddenly stop I would be wondering.

I read on another board someone was asking why a certain agency is not answering their phone today and the guy tried at different times. Maybe it's just a coincidence or they are taking a day off as precaution.
