No at Canaidan airports you can be suprised with a no fly list and be stopped at the airport, and you would never know your on that list until you arrive at the airport.

I didn't get the full story on the news but I am sure others have.

They said there is a way to get off the list but you have to make an appeal when your stopped at the airport and your plans could be cancelled dead in your tracks.

The whole thought of that scares me since 2 months ago my family had to go jamaica for a funeral. just image the damage it could have causes if one or more of us got stopped.

I'm assuming one would have had to do something unacceptable based on Canadian law, or even international law. Since there are many people who have such boring lives and have never even had a parking ticket, those people can rest assured there will absolutely no way they would be on that list. No????????

how can you be on a "no fly list" without having somewaht of an idea? If you have any priors you can expect a problem with flying....if you are up to no good; expect a problem as you never know whos been watching you.

But If you a regular law abiding citizen there shouldnt be a problem...How can they just stop someone from flying for absolutely no reason at all??

I sent in GB's name, maybe he's gone into "hiding".
He mentioned swimming to Cleveland. Maybe he made it and DQ is hiding him.

Oh, I thought you meant W. Silly me.

GB is welcome. Our zoo is looking for
recruits. He'll get the best attention.
Surely, not much diff between TERB
and a zoo.

Indeed I did mean our AWOL bear punster.

The animals in the zoo are likely better behaved and well bathed.

If your name happens to match someone else's name on the list..you're out of luck. Your personal record doesn't matter at the airport. The name match's..you don't fly.

The interesting thing is that for those truly suspected of being terrorists..their names are not on the list so as to not tip them off to the investigation potentially going on.

So in essence the no fly list is for low level security risks that really do nothing more than slow down the process of travel even further.

For the average person the list will never be a problem.

If you have a last name that hails from on the "...stans" you may have a problem.

Another sad fact of life in 2007.

according to the globe- Those named on the list are believed to pose an immediate threat to air security. They must also have been involved, or have been suspected of involvement, in a terrorist group, or they must have committed a serious and life-threatening crime against Canadian aviation.

I don't thinks it bad to have a list but I think its asinine to not tell people they are on the list and give them a chance to rebut the presumption.

That's the ticket. The custom is to standby for more puns, as terminal is it may be.

GB is too heavy, they put him on the weight list.

i showed the stewardness ( not Air C, but a pretty one from a real airline) my e-male ticket. She was impressed with the package of material and made my flight as comfortable as possible. prior to landing I did return her to the upright position.

Oh, I don't know. Just ask Senator Kennedy in the US how his name got on a no fly list. I'm sure he thought it was a fun experience to be denied access and to be arrested, simply because his name was on a list.
