Years ago I knew a lot of guys that had these cars, have they turned out to be the collectors items that these guys hoped they would be?

Good question I am really interested also?

Or how about those Honda Civics from 10 years ago and now.

I don't know about the everyday versions, but I believe the "muscle car" versions in good to excellent condition are collector items and quite valuable.

I think most of the Camaro, Trams Am, Firebird that were around when I was young have been scrapped long ago. Most were not of any significant worth. They were daily drivers of young guys that had no money to maintain them. They parked them on the street and drove them in the winter. Very few were stored away properly. Then came a time when they went out of fashion and were barley worth anything.

Yes…. To the right person. It’s the parking lot car show guys who appreciate them.

I had a Firebird in college. Loved that car…

I have a 68 Camaro RS, 79 Camaro Z28 and an 86 Firebird Trans Am. All are well sought after. I'd love to find a good 70 Mustang fastback for restoration.

I have a 1988 TA, kept it clean and in good shape. 170k got it appraised by pics only 25k. I paid 22k when I bought it at 18...so I would say yes...I should get it professionally appraised may get few more bucks. I think with all the battery cars coming out gas cars will be worth even more.

Yes! Prices have risen significantly in the last 5 years. Check Hagerty's website for recent evaluations.
Second gen (1969-1982) Camaro's and Trans Am's are the most sought after.
But 4 gens, 1998-2002, with LS motors, are a bargain, and will rise in value quickly over the next few years.

2nd gen are actually from 1970 1/2 . The 1970 was delayed due to the popularity of the 1969, last of the first gen. 2nd gen have increased in value as first gen have become rather pricey so demand increased for something that was more affordable at the time. Increased demand, higher prices.

Plenty of German, Japanese, South Korean vehicles on the road. Also Ram, F150 and Silverado trucks. But does anyone drive GM, Ford, Chrysler passenger vehicles anymore? Hardly any to be seen.

I believe we're talking about classic collectibles, not everyday utility vehicles.

Apart from the 60's models this is my favorite body design. (97) Kind of Batmobile look about it.
This is the same as mine. Hoping it will go up in value. Cheap right now.
