J T K, when you talk to Bell, ask for the customer retention dept. and if you don't feel that you are getting the best deal, tell them that you have been offered a good deal by the other guy.

Remember, with Bell customer service always comes first. But only after you tell them the other guy is dragging you down the aisle by your ankles. And you're glad.

Then Bell will begin to talk.

I ask for the customer loyalty dept,... get good results,...but make sure you have good data about you current plan/costs, and other options, before calling,...being an ass without numbers,...will get you nowhere.

Every year,...I get a pretty good % drop when I call.

I do basic cable. After taxes and everything it's about $50/month.

Going to ditch it at some point as all I watch are sports and news.

Problem is watch sports on the net is hit and miss. The quality is never as good as cable through a cord. Even the best streams quoted as "HD" aren't that great compared to standard cable.

ive compared this kodi & iptv the result was that iptv is much better.. iptv dont buffer at all & you get to choose if you want hd or 4k.. iptv box have a remote & you just have to remember that channel.. kodi needs to find a better link, too much clicking, buffering, not too much hd, the more add-ons you have the slower it gets...
My Doctor has one he pays 15 a month but he complains he gets buffering when watching cricket games. Do you need a special box..and its 10 a month? What download speed do you need?

As soon as YouTube or Netflix, or some other streaming service offers live sports, cable tv will be finished.

Why do you think Rogers bought up all those sports teams. Content. Toronto sports will now always be cable first.

as long as you have an unlimited high speed internet then your going to be fine.. i dont know what kind of server he have but mine is the iptvguys & i used to have the iptvexpress.. you should check it out.. you pay the box one time either you buy it from them or you buy your own (much cheaper!!) iptvexpress is $10 a month & iptvguys is $30..

That was their smartest business decision ever.
Apparently not their ratings were way down
Worst results in decades

It could be a concerted boycott, it could be too many people quit cable, or it could be people just hate their productions

Why pay extra $80 a month if you don't watch it..hook up your box, many series.
You may be right but I do watch those channels sometimes. Is the box going to cover all those other channels (Geo, Doc, TMN, HBO, Science, etc. etc., or is it just recent movies or new movies? You're right - it does include series too. I guess I'll know after I hook up.)

Once all our TVs are 1) hooked up to the Weebs, and 2) have a decent interface for browsing and choosing, and 3) a painless click-and-pay mechanism at hand, then there will be no obvious viewer advantage to buying packages of programming. What we're seeing is the evolution towards pick and play program by single program. Only question is which providers are able to keep up and lead the way.

Only downside is that along the way, a closet somewhere in your home is filling with 'boxes', modems and drives that were once the latest thing. And every one of them cost you some bucks for the illusion you were being entertained better for less. Only time that was even partially true was when you had that old-fashioned antenna bringing in the shows the advertisers paid for.
