Don't know how many people but I got an email from Condo management alerting us of the situation and the condo unit owner will be fined. I saw police cars outside my building that night.

At least it's outdoors and they are wearing masks and BLM protests were last summer just after the first wave and cases were low. The party people weren't wearing masks and it's indoors and at a time when we are at peak of the 3rd wave. That's the difference. BTW, I'm not a fan of protests of any kind but at least wear a mask in huge crowd.

No, you're right, it was last June of last summer when things were open.

Social distancing wasn't a thing last June?

I'm not a fan of protest during COVID for any reason! That being said, outside with masks on negates social distancing to a certain extent but I'd prefer no mass gatherings for any reason. I would use massive trucks with high-pressure water guns and disperse all protests until the pandemic is over and I wouldn't give a rat's ass of anyone crying Charter of Rights blah blah blah. I need to run for office one day!
