BREAKING: Scarborough Man Commits Suicide After Getting Detained by Toronto Police
On Tuesday morning, it was reported that a Scarborough, Ontario resident, Moses Demian committed suicide following his detainment by the Toronto Police Monday n

I don’t think so.Obviously the victim had mental health issues. Considering this guy committed suicide the next day, I'm not sure you can blame Police for this one. RIP
Toronto Police respond daily to over 80 mental health calls alone. When you consider that number and how infrequently they make the news, Police in general do a pretty good job. Is there room for improvement? Of course, but I suspect they'll attend hundreds if not thousands of calls before another makes the news again.
You are right, you can't blame the police for this. I am sure the family will though and sue looking for sympathy money.Obviously the victim had mental health issues. Considering this guy committed suicide the next day, I'm not sure you can blame Police for this one. RIP

No need to be insensitive. The poor guy obviously had mental issues and it's actually pretty sad that he took his own life following that altercation. I'm sure the Cops who arrested him don't feel great about what happened either. He leaves behind a mother, father and siblings, who I'm sure are devastated by their loss. I can't say for sure, but there's likely a coloration between these types of incidence (among others) that lead to Police suicides. If the dumb SOB wanted to kill himself it would have happened weather the cops were involved or not
You do bring up a good point. For the most part, Cops are never going to beat you up if you don't freak out on them first. My rule of thumb, and it's worked for me my entire life, is even if you're right and the Cops are wrong, don't piss then off. My brothers and sisters taught me this at a young age. It's worked like magic to this day."Western Society" people are not meant/used to living under these conditions... The pressure is building. Bad things are happening.
You cannot resist arrest. Just comply and hire your lawyer afterwards.
FWIW... I have family members who've been Police (with one committing suicide). They wouldn't care about this dude killing himself... I think its trained out of them. The one who committed suicide was due to stress (read: evil wife) at home...No need to be insensitive. I had a friend with mental health issues who got roughed up by police and he committed suicide about 10 days later. That is why the "Defund the Police" folks say that certain cases should be handled by mental health professionals instead of aggressive, violent , old school cops.Obviously the victim had mental health issues. I don't believe you can "train out" human emotions. There may be some things you get used to, or you become numb to, but there's no way any aspects or emotions are "trained" out of you. I'm sorry about your family member committing suicide. No easy task for anyone to accept.FWIW... I have family members who've been Police (with one committing suicide). Sorry to hear about your friend. While I agree there should be a shift in the way Police handle these call, it's going to take a while to make changes. As I mentioned before, Toronto Cops respond to over 80 mental health calls a day. Right now, when someone is in distress, people call one number. "911" Then it's up to that operator to evaluate the situation and send the appropriate first responders.I had a friend with mental health issues who got roughed up by police and he committed suicide about 10 days later. If you have black skin, typically the cops will:Typically, Cops will:
Step 1: Ask you to do something. This is where it's a good idea to do what they say. If not...
Step 2: Tell you to do something. Now if you still don't comply, they will...
Seep 3: Make you do something... This is where shit goes wrong...
Yawn. Change the diatribe, please. BLM has zero credibility. If you have black skin, typically the cops will:
Step 1: Give you a ticket for sitting in a park, completely peacefully. ( Meanwhile, Conservative WHITE SKIN finance minister keeps his job, despite putting covid on people ).
Step 2: Beat you
Step 3: George Floyd you
The above is a MOVIE ... not real life ... therefore using this as an argument is a big, fat ... FAIL !!!
The only point being made here with references to those words is to question everything for your self and find the truth on your own terms. Right now they are distorting the truth for you.The above is a MOVIE ... not real life ... therefore using this as an argument is a big, fat ... FAIL !!!
ROFLMFAO!!! No disrespect, but rapid testing? Why don't you just ask for a free trip to Mars? They will not do any of it because they're incapable of accomplishing anything. Rapid testing, fortifying the LTC facilities, a couple of extra busses during the rush hour, stopping or at least quarantining the international flights, etc. Those are beyond their abilities. For decades now our governments have perfected the art of the bureaucratic inertia of passing the buck, kicking the can down the road and evading responsibility. All they do now is act for show and doing for the sake of doing. They're not interested in results because they know that they will fail. Hence, another lock down after the previous lockdown failed. If you guys are okay with the state treating you like children then you will love this next initiative which will free you even more from actually thinking for your selves.

What’s next? How far are you willing to allow them to scare and imprison you without holding them accountable?
Better solution is rapid testing program and techniques with other measures and not blind ignorant lockdowns.
To each their own, however it is totally understandable some people like being a sheep and don’t like it when this is exposed.
What do you think will work then since these lockdowns are not doing much?ROFLMFAO!!! No disrespect, but rapid testing? Why don't you just ask for a free trip to Mars?
