Back in the Baby Boomer time, the schools got excited about long hair. Next was hot pants were banned and the list changed regularly of what was 'inappropriate in schools'. It is now 60 years on and the only thing that has changed is that people with a little power like to show off their righteousness or the current political correctness. No matter how often schools and school board loose court challenges, those petty people still look for stupid things to ban. If the goal is to provide information, the ability to learn and the skills analysis, they are failing dismally. There is a quote mistakenly attributed to Voltaire, "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
