The Secret Teachings of All Ages is perhaps the most comprehensive and complete esoteric encyclopedia ever written. The sheer scope and ambition of this book are stunning. In this book Manly P. Hall has successfully distilled the essence of more arcane subjects than one would think possible. He covers Rosicrucianism and other secret societies, alchemy, cryptology, Kabbalah, Tarot, pyramids, the Zodiac, Pythagorean philosophy, Masonry, gemology, Nicholas Flammel, the identity of William Shakespeare, The Life and Teachings of Thoth Hermes Trismegistus, The Qabbalah, The Hiramic Legend, The Tree of the Sephiroth, Mystic Christianity, and there are more than 200 illustrations included here. This is essential reading for anyone wishing to explore esoteric knowledge.

ABOUT THE SECRET DESTINY OF AMERICA
From the author of the landmark Secret Teachings of All Ages comes two classic works on the mysterious origins and unique mission of America: The Secret Destiny of America and America’s Assignment with Destiny.

Focusing on often-forgotten moments in history, Manley P. Hall proposes that there was a Great Plan put forth one thousand years before our nation’s founding: humanistic and mystical organizations wished for the continent to be the location for an experiment in self-government and religious freedom.

As one of the leading esoteric scholars of the twentieth century, Hall offers an intriguing view of our past, discussing everything from the symbolism of the Great Seal of the U.S. to the prophecy announced at George Washington’s birth.

Here is Manly P. Hall's classic work on history's most secretive brotherhood- reset and collected with two additional celebrated Hall volumes on occult Masonry.

Freemasonry is the subject of perennial fascination-recently the cover story of a national newsmagazine, the premise of the movie National Treasure, and the anticipated basis of a forthcoming novel by Dan Brown. The twentieth century's great scholar of occult and esoteric ideas, Manly P. Hall was a Mason himself and nurtured a lifelong interest in the secret fraternal order, making it the focus of one of his earliest and best-loved books, The Lost Keys of Freemasonry. In this celebrated work, he examines the ethical training required of a Freemason, and the character traits a Mason must "build" within himself. Hall's 1923 volume is now reset and made available exclusively in this new edition, along with the author's two further classics on Masonry:

- Freemasonry of the Ancient Egyptians (1937), which explores the roots of Freemasonry in the initiatory temple rites of Pharaonic Egypt; and
- Masonic Orders of Fraternity (1950), a fascinating work of short history that chronicles the reemergence of Freemasonry in Europe in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It surveys the lives of Masonry's modern architects and the secretive organizations that immediately preceded the brotherhood.

This three-in-one volume features the original illustrations of each book, for a total of nearly thirty images, including recreations of scenes and rites from Masonry's unusual history. It also includes a new index encompassing all three titles.

Wow, some of you guys are way too cerebral for me. I like to read to relax and let my brain have a mini vacation.

If you're a fan of Lee Child (Jack Reacher series) and/or Robert B. Parker styles, you should check out a Canadian author, Ian Hamilton' Ava Lee series.
It's not necessary to read them in order, but it does help a bit to follow the characters' development.
Thanks. I will try Ava Lee as I am a fan of both the Reacher and Spenser series. BTW casting Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher was nothing short of criminal.

I am currently reading Robicheaux, the latest (21st) in the Dave Robicheaux series by James Lee Burke who I find to be a terrific storyteller and a master of his craft constructing prose that I reread just to marvel at its construction.

Absolutely agree about the poor casting of Cruise for Reacher.
But I guess if Tom funded the film, he got to do whatever he wanted.

If anyone needs the author let me know. I love that the author speaks about different theories in this book.

Radical feminism has declared war on human nature. Feminists assert that everything most people think of as normal and natural about sex -- including basic ideas about what it means to be male and female -- is oppressive to women. Award-winning journalist Robert Stacy McCain examines these theories and warns that feminism's radical ideas about "equality" could destroy our civilization.

canada-man, congrats about the diploma.

But serious question.

What’s the purpose of this thread? Brown’s book doesn’t come out until November. You post an incredible number of books here. Sometimes every day.

Are these books ones that you’re reading? Ones you’ve read or recommend? Or ones you’re hoping to read one day?

Alternative title might be: "FUCK! How I shot myself in the foot and lived to whine about it"
Well, at-least the “First Edition” doesn’t come across as unpretentious.
