Realistically the Jays are hopeless

Only two of our batters should be in the top five of the lineup in bocheete and vlad who will be FA who will leave to play for contender.

We need three more good hitters
Santander and Alonso are available, I think.

They are expensive as everyone wants them

At best we will get one quailty hitter but why come to Jays when vlad is a FA ?

Sign Vlad first then get someone but these long term mega buck deals have a sad ending

Look at Springer contract

Like I said, future looks hopeless

Trade all our veterans for a bright future but Jays will never do that

Everyone is right about bad Jays management

I think someone saw Santander getting on a flight to Toronto,
I think someone saw Santander getting out of a SUV and going to a TO hotel.
I think someone saw Santander at a Japanese restaurant here in TO.

2.6 million fans made the mistake of buying tickets in 2024. If that holds, Rogers and Shapiro have nothing to fear. And has there ever been a worse record than John Schneider without getting fired?

Reds hire a great manager, Terry Francona - we keep schneider.....sigh
I thought that he was done because of health issues.

As far as Schneider, based on what Atkins has given him, you can't make a silk purse out of a cow's ear. He gets an eternal free pass in my books. IKF, Votto, Vogelbach, Kiermayer, Biggio, Turner. That's not his fault. Connie Mack or Leo Durocher would be hamstrung with those guys.

For me personally, if they extend Guerrero to some ridiculously long ten year contract, and then follow that up with the signing of a true cleanup hitter, I will have a little bit of faith restored in this administration. The question is will that actually happen?

IKF played well for you guys...On another front Tim Mayza made the playoff roster for my Yankees.

Couldn't find the strike zone with the Jays but was better in Pinstripes.

Agree with IKF being the best of of the bunch. A solid major leaguer but not a changer of a team's fortunes.
I was impressed by IKF during his time with the Jays, especially because it was unexpected. I was surprised to see his productivity dropped off after the trade to the Pirates.

I think having Charles McAdoo under control for several seasons is a lot more valuable than IKF at $7.5 Million for 2025.

If the Jays want to seriously contend in 2-3 years, they should sign several free agents like IKF* to contracts of 2-3 years, solely for the purpose of trading them for good prospects.

*ie: lower-priced free agents with at least one full year at a fixed cost to the receiving team. Signing 35-40 year old guys who can only DH is not the way to go; if they can be moved, the Jays would probably have to pay some or all of the remaining salary.
