I'm not even sure why people are still talking about this....
It's not going to happen and nor should it. Sanchez is one of the best starters in baseball right now. You don't take one of the best starters in baseball and put him in the bullpen.

We need 2 new relievers, either trade for them or pull them out of the farms.

To me the guy who should go to the bullpen is Marcus Stroman.
Sanchez is pitching like an all star and does not deserve to be ghettoized in the bullpen.
Stroman is pitching like a number 4 or 5 guy in a rotation and not like the ace he fantisizes himself to be.
His effectiveness drops off substancially on the second or third time through the order; but he's very good on the first go around.
It seems like the Jays have lost about 10 games this year because seventh and eighth inning guys have been so god awful.
If you put Stroman in that role he would be infinitely more valuable to the team relative to what he's doing in the starting rotation.

Where was Cliff Johnson? When he was here the HBP count against Blue Jays batters dropped by 80%. That should count for something. Rougnied Odor would not have punched Boom Bats if he knew that Mr. Congeniality would get into his grill.

Stroman to the bullpen is interesting and I believe he is also on an inning limit. He is one of the innings leaders this year avg 6.2 per start. He may have pitched 150 ip in total in 2014. so 180 IP may be his limit if you believe in the 20% increment limit.
Interesting thought on Stroman in the pen. I know Zaun felt ultimately Stroman would be a bullpen guy when he came up in 2014, in large part due to size/stamina and plane of his fastball.

Marc 00000000 bullpen oh no. Interesting thought Stroman to pen. Question...has any other right handed pitcher his size ever been an all star starter? Cant remember if Tim LIncecum is left or right, Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry were short.lefties..but I think Stroman is shorter....so I have doubts about him being an ace...Sanchez is built like an ace and has the fastball

Stroman is often compared with Tom Gordon short RH with full 5 pitches (also happens to be AA). I recall Gordon found most of his success as a reliever in his career. I think Stroman will as well but not necessarily this year. the Jays don't have a surplus of starter depth so will use any live arm capable of going deep this year, and worry about next year then.
Lincecum is righty but is 5'11.

Ross Atkins already came out and said they don't think they're even going to put him in the bull pen. Only if he really starts to flounder. There is no pitch inning limit or anything like that.
What the heck are we gonna do with a 39-year old pitcher who has a 5.29 ERA this season?!
