Can we get back to debating whether Tulo or Revere should be hitting leadoff? Or whether Gibbons is a liability? Or Pillar is a good major league hitter? Or whether the infield fly rule should be abolished? How about netting to protect the higher paying customers?

Or here is a puzzler...The manager's name is John...why is he called Gibby for short?

Tulo.
No.
Average.
No.
No.
Often a couple of guys named John on a ballclub, easier to identify who one is referring to.

And if he got arrested for soliciting the services…. would they send him to Gibby School?
He already passed Gibby School with an A+ average. He learned everything a Gibby could possibly learn.

As a child the teacher never had to yell at him to stay in his seat.
First thing you learn in Gibby School: "Wha git up? Yuh kin spit perfeckly fan sittin' down."

And Gibby has a point there.

It got a little nervous when Osuna started 3-0 to the 1st batter, but then 9 straight strikes. Scratch one more off the magic number countdown.

The place was rocking tonight and as JBats just said the players are feeding off it. As I told black booty lover, there is nothing wrong about the atmosphere at the Skydome. All we need is a competitive team and a big crowd. I wonder what the atmosphere is like at Camden Yard these days.

Holy shit, Osuna made those three guys look like little leaguers.

By the way, looking ahead to the Cleveland series we avoid Kluber and Carrasco.

That's great! Cleveland can be troublesome because they have decent pitching. Ask the Yanks.

Defence is marvelous to see. The play Tulo made in the hole was awesome....and even more important since it was the lead off hitter. Goins also made an exceptional play.

Now start having Ben lead off against right handers...and I will be perfectly happy.

I'm not sure having Revere as lead-off is an option. Gibby's game plan makes sense, allow the sluggers to have a good look at the opposing pitcher let the bottom of the order get on base and rough him up the second time around. Zauno is correct, the BJ's hitters have gotten into opposing pitcher's heads. How thoroughly they've done this will play out when the Jays face Chris Archer again (IMHO currently the best pitcher in the Majors).

Steve Stamkos showed up for the fun with the team. He and Jose have been friends for awhile now, Jose lives in Tampa during the off-season. And he does attend Lightning games.

Is Roberto Osuna actually 20? He's wise beyond his years but he has a problem. He does his own cooking since he can't find decent Mexican food in Toronto. He doesn't like sushi. Gotta agree with him, for a young man raised on ceviche, sushi must be baby food to him. And I've yet to find a good ceviche place in Toronto.

I have a suggestion for the next club President: Mark Cohon.

He did an outstanding job as CFL Commissioner, the Jays don't the President to get involved with baseball operations. But we do need someone who'll get the renovations to the Skydome started ASAP. They Jays cannot wait till 2018 to convert to natural turf, otherwise we run the risk of having our squadrone picked apart by other teams. Just like the Rays have been since 2008. The technology is there, San Siro being the prime example of that. Forget Shapiro, Cohon is the right man for the job.

Dude, any team that hasn't won in over 20 headed towards the play offs is going to draw crowds.(especially in the 4th biggest city in north America) it's can you draw during a rebuild or when your team sucks in the dogs days of August. Look at Boston, team sucks but Fenway is a hell of place to watch a ball game so people still go. I was at Wrigley field this year (before the cubs got hot) and you can't even compare the two atmoshpere's.

I bet you if you got to ask the players which ball parks they hate playing in the most, 3 are always going to be at the top of that list:

Topicana Field, the Oakland Coliseum, and the wonderful state of the art facility known as the rogers centre.

here are two links rating current mlb parks, these are just the first two I came across....guess where rogers setter ranks...

Which is changing the topic. We are talking about the fans' experience, not the players'.

The place was electric and will be for the rest of the year. Almost every player has said it is the most charged atmosphere they've ever played in. Are they lying?

To repeat myself once again, all we need is a competitive team/meaningful games to create atmosphere. I have been proven correct. You can theorize all you want. Last night was fact, not theory.

And I'll say it again, any team in a city this big, that is starving for a winner, especially since this team hasn't been the post season in over 20 years headed towards the playoffs is going to have a great atmosphere. My point is when things aren't great how well can they draw??

My point has always been that when the teams sucks, people don't enjoy coming the park, because it's not a park. It's an ugly multi-purpose cement eye sore with extremely high walls and no character to it.

You proven nothing accept people will come a cheer for a team about to make the post season in over 20 years (the longest drought in pro sports right now) in the 4th biggest city in north America that is absolutely blood thirsty for a winner.

Thanks for agreeing with what I've said all along.

Competitive teams/meaningful games are the single most important factor in creating atmosphere.

The only two parks that are unique, and it's only because they are ancient relics, are Fenway and Wrigley. Yankee stadium and Camden etc. are no different than Toronto when fielding a loser. I've seen it first hand.

I think I heard someone say that last night's game was the 5th consecutive sell-out at RC. Place seemed to be on fire on the TV. After all these years lovely to see of course, and it really looks like the players are feeding off all that energy.
