Blackjacks and Saps

Discussions about strip club bouncers got me thinking about this subject. I used to see saps used rather frequently by characters in forties 'B' movies. Not much in evidence anymore. That reminds me of the old Alfred Hitchcock where a cop tells his wife he's leaving her for another woman. She gets pissed and clubs him over the head with a frozen leg of lamb, killing him. When his buds at the precinct come to investigate she's cooked it and they eat the evidence.

They are prohibited weapons, if that's what you mean...

actually) are also prohibited weapons... How effective
a weapon is depends on what type of effect one is trying
to achieve, and who is weilding it, as you noted.

Since these are both examples of prohibited weapons,
they are not safe to possess (from an exposure to LE
perspective), let alone carry around. I suggest you
limit your interest in these devices to an academic
one.

Canada has very strong prohibitions surrounding weapons,
especially in comparison to the US.
