Mogo does the $20 referral thing too ;)

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. If you're still doubtful of bitcoin I will give you $10 worth of BTC. Hopefully once you have some skin in the game you'll be more motivated to learn about it, and if bitcoin were to crash and burn tomorrow then, oh well, it didn't cost you anything, right?

I will transfer through Shakepay, since they offer no-fee transfers and the verification process is much quicker than Newton (1 hour vs over a week in my case).

You'll need to sign up through this referral link and then complete the verification process: https://shakepay.me/r/3LZNLLG This is so I can track a legit new sign-up vs. people who already have accounts and to prevent people claiming the reward multiple times through different unverified accounts.

Once you've been verified, send me a private message with your Shaketag. I will verify the new sign-up on my end and send you $10 worth of BTC.

Not All Work the same way, I don`t no what is the part you do not understand. But speaking overall, There are Crypto That Work in very different ways.
Do not only read about Bitcoin, BTC is just the Prototype. One day it will no longer be what people want. As it is not as Private as people were to believe.
Like. If i know your wallet address. I could go on the Block chain and Know How much BTC is yours.
That is not really what someone wants.
The thing is, Right Now and the last 4 years. it is not easy to buy ! 50, 0000 UDS IN GOLD. Well gold that you can have in your own Private Safe.
So, the CAD, USD & EUR. Are not stable, Nor is the economy.
So if you were, Not saying you are not. To be honest hope you had 400,000 USD!
To not lose your value, Be for the drop of the Dollar . Pandemic.
Thats Why and the mmain Reason. That Bitcoin is Under Going this Surge.
You could have Tesla Stock. But Who is Going to Buyit. Or even sell it . Given . The Self drive SoftW. Will be Lunched . Or has already been lunched?
You Could also add, That Peole do not have cash right now! to buy Tesla at 600 or what ever it is at! high!
I do not Put all my faith an Trust in BTC or any other Crypto!
Gold Silver would be the only Safe Heaven For Me.
I make the bitCoin Gain! To But the Gold BARS!
If Anyone Asked mr what i would put all my eggs in! Low risk high gain! Gold.
I do have Gold...I just read that Silver is going to boom in 2021.

For those that don't want to get into investing in the coin itself, I mentioned earlier about investing in NYSE: SI
There's also a bitcoin etf on TSX:
TSE: QBTC.U

Remember, you might have to pay taxes when you pull out your BTC gains. Apparently Canadian gov has been requesting info from Canadian crypto exchanges. So the above might be a better investment opp in your TFSA, RRSP to avoid paying taxes.

Not sure exactly what you were doing on silk road...lol.

Anyway, cash in and get what you can. Bitcoin is an elusion. What the guys in this thread don't understand, is in order from something to gain monetary value, it has to produced something. The only other way it becomes more valuable is if some other dumb ass is willing to buy it from you for than what you paid because he/she thinks they'll sell it for more. Because it doesn't produce anything, at some point it crashes because there's no demand for it since it doesn't produce anything.

Clearly you still don’t understand the technology and don’t care to be educated. Which is completely fine, just admit you’re ignorant toward the subject rather than spouting off like you’re some kind of expert. Just because you can’t see the value in bitcoin that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

If you cannot explain to a 10 year old why investing in Bitcoin makes sense don't invest - some people that exit will make money the rest will be looking for chairs.
There is nothing produced of any tangible value, no recurring earnings, no store of value, backed by nothing, with no regulatory control.
Reminds me of Bre-X people believed what they wanted to believe until people started falling from helicopters...

just because a company accepts this as currency, it doesn't make it more valuable then government regulated currency. You can go dollar for dollar all day, not going to change the fact that at some point that bitcoin needs to be converted back to a government regulated currency.

Lots of dumb asses spend money on porn/onlyfans and escorts.

For something to be worth anything, it needs to have perceived value, and everyone's value differs. Bitcoin has value because there is demand, and that's all that matters. Bitcoin is useless in the very same way stocks are. It's just another investment vehicle.

Governments will never adopt it completely because it challenges their power.

If I can see any real value in bitcoin, it’s the blockchain technology, which essentially is just some data structure designed by a Japanese dude. He is so smart that he figured out a way to make sure everyone using his coins can monitor each other so that no third party authority like government or central bank will be needed. He is surely a good coder and wanted to save us all from the filthy fiat money. Little did he know that the coins he created to buy pizza would go up to 30 k 😱and everyone went crazy!!!

So here comes the question: what makes bitcoin more valuable when there are hundreds other crypto there having the same technology? Just because it’s the first one created so it deserves all the hype ? Unfortunately can’t be convinced by that🙉

Besides, with a limited supply, bitcoin is deflationary. If one day bitcoin truly replaces fiat currency, everyone will want to save or hold it instead of spending or investing? Sounds like a sad world with a endless quarantine 😵

Ignorant and uneducated as I am, can’t really understand all the hypes about bitcoin 😔

Daisy, you are anything but ignorant and uneducated that's 100% for sure!!!
Creating an artificial currency with a finite supply is not the same as M1 or M2 (money supply)
Anyone who studies economics understand that there is a universal need to expand the pie - by limiting supply you are artificially creating inflation for a scarce resource.
As you correctly pointed out holding onto a scarce resource will not expand the economy and will not result in economic investment or liquidity.
There is also the issue of barriers to entry - why is one product worth more than another - think of pot stocks - are they commodities - can they differentiate their offering?
In this case, the resource has no real tangible value other than what people perceive it to hold - revenue, earnings, assets, regulatory it is a total shit show - I would rather own gold than bitcoin, it has always be used for industrial or cosmetic uses, it is portable and can be traded anywhere on the planet. Gold also has a finite supply but unlike bitcoin it is tangible and has a use - the one value of bitcoin as you said is the blockchain technology - similar to BlackBerry - the licensed technology is more value than producing Crackberry phones. Telsa is another example of a disrupter - you are buying intellectual technology and a vision for the future, not today's earnings.
As far as my own $ I have less than 30 securities total and diversify among many sectors globally. When you buy a business you are buying the management, the opportunities for growth, recurring revenues, regulatory oversight, and you are diversifying your holdings across geographies. Many Bitcoin "investors" are too concentrated and exposed.

This guy dismisses and demolishes bitcoin in about 5 seconds early on in his lecture. Didn't really feel the need to explain why, other than saying it was a pyramid scheme. As with gold. which he describes as "death by a thousand cuts" .. As the market is all about speculation, I would have thought all bases are covered. Not quite sure what gap bitcoin is filling.

Yup, because again, the only way to make money from bitcoin is someone else has to pay more for it then you did, but then they have the problem. Like a pyramid scheme, if you get in at the right time, you might be one of the few that make money, but majority of people are going to take a huge it. Especially the ones at the bottom of the pyramid.
